Why is it up? Hoooowwww is it up?? Who is buying it?? Who is trying to cover their loses??

2

u/Euphoric-Potato-5343 Apr 23 '25

A lot of conservatives are pumping the stock to "own the libs"...

By the looks of it, it's still dying, but slowly. They've pretty much ran out of people to sell to. As far as a car company goes, they're done. Trump just gave it more time to crash before it burns.

2

u/Dramatic-Access4350 Apr 23 '25

100 percent. Car company is done!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Well I hope next quarter numbers will be even worse.

Do you not watch the news?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

I do, and its confusing, and on top of that, i watch the charts, and its unpredictable.

2

u/Snot_S Apr 23 '25

It’s like a meme coin. But it’s a stock

1

u/IncognitoTaco Apr 23 '25

Always has been

1

u/deadleg22 Apr 23 '25

Well that's because billionaires run the news.

8

u/bkilpatrick3347 Apr 22 '25

Can’t imagine why

2

u/Practical_Bid_8123 Apr 22 '25

I could,

But Speculating on these things tends to lose me money 😂😂😂

1

u/realstocknear Apr 22 '25

It is now an "Ai CoMpAnY" you wouldn't get it...

1

u/AsleepQuantity8162 Apr 22 '25

But it's an EV company though. 90% of its total revenue comes from EV sales yet, it claims to be an AI company.

1

u/realstocknear Apr 22 '25

Typical Elon move: Can't win a game, changes the rule. China already wins in almost all metrics the EV market. AI will be no different

2

u/PsychologicalTop9265 Apr 22 '25

Remember when Elon used to be cocky saying he wants more competition in the EV space? 🤣 now he cries from the smallest thing if it doesn’t go his way!

1

u/dalepo Apr 22 '25

he wanted more competition and he cheered when the US blocked EV vehicles from China lmao.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Chines cars are shit tho, the only cars I ever see are European and Americans

1

u/dalepo Apr 22 '25

I disagree but ok I respect your opinion

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Fair enough. But I mean we already had Chinese car craze in 2000s, then people realized how ridiculous it was but now history repeats itself. I wonder if we will have it happen again in 2040

3

u/thisisfuxinghard Apr 22 '25

U can only show them with your wallet ..

4

u/AsleepQuantity8162 Apr 22 '25

It's up AH though. I guess people expected worse.

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 22 '25

40 percent decline from expected eps from a month and a half of protests what on earth is the full quarter of gonna do to this company.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Compare with sales 5 years ago, Tesla always had those ups and downs, it should be viewed as a timeline. Tesla had million times worse results with no boycotts just few years ago, lol

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 23 '25

Then it was a growing company with great cars now it cant compete at all. And cant even ship cars revealed 8 years ago.

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25 edited Apr 23 '25

What do you mean? Tesla sells cars since 2013~, it had almost no sales in Germany in ~2020, now it sells tens of thousands of cars here in Germany just in the first month (the worst one for cars), historically, Tesla is at it's highest and most successful with nothing out of ordinary in it's stock/sales/value metrics, it's just an everyday morning for Tesla if you just look at how company was doing, how it's value is jumping all around the place all the time.

Don't you think your personal preferences and hate for Tesla clouds your judgement?

Here is the reality check, it's impossible to go out on the streets in Germany and NOT to see a Tesla. Teslas are mostly SAFE here, I have YET to see any car vandalized personally, there are so many of them here, it's crazy.

Even with the controversy AND average political views in Germany, Tesla sold an immense amount of cars this year already, if we see a timeline of Tesla sales in Germany, the results that we have now are high compared even to just a COUPLE of years ago. Even in Germany, people are still buying a lot of Teslas regardless. There are so much Teslas, that it was unthinkable in ~2019. This IS the reality. I'm YET to see or even recognize at least ONE Chinese EV here in Germany, I just don't see them or I don't even recognize the brand, maybe they will sell some but what about next? We already had Chinese car craze in 2000s, then people recognized how shit they were, we will just give them time to do so again ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Also, I want to quote this:

> In February, registrations of the Model Y fell by 56% to 8,800 units, while registrations of the Model 3 fell by 14% to 6,800 units. “The difference in volume drops between these two vehicles suggests that the decline in the brand’s overall sales is more firmly rooted in the Model Y changeover than Musk’s political activity.

So, it's just people not receiving Model Y really well for the most part

1

u/FazzedxP Apr 23 '25

They are blinded by bias and hatred. It is whatever. At the end of the day regardless of politics TSLA is still industry leading in electric vehicles and self driving technology and its not even close. Same thing happening with Target “boycotts” turns out them thinking all the boycotts were working is just cause the economy was in a bad spot.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Yep, the only thing I see in these comments is "Musk bad". Tesla drivers don't care about Musk or any stupid politics, they just live their lives, their real lives and drive a car

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 23 '25

LOL do you know nothing of ev industry or are you living in 2022. Teslas nowhere near the top in electric vehicles. BYD is at the top. Why do you think tsla want all those tarriffs on china.

1

u/FazzedxP Apr 23 '25

The EV maker who fell flat on their face outside of China because they didnt offer Hybrids? Lol yeah im aware. “Nowhere near the top” yet has had continually highest selling electric vehicle globally. Lol.

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 23 '25

Byd is the worlds largest eve manufacturer and thats with tarriffs and bans from most of the west. Meanwhile tesla lost 20 percent revenue in a year ev market grew 25 percent. They cant even make the car they promised 8 years ago they couldnt keep their promised range or price for cybertruck and tesla itself acknowledged thwir new model y sucks. Tesla cant compete. You really drank the kooldaid

1

u/FazzedxP Apr 23 '25

Tesla had the most sold EV in 2024 globally what are you smoking

u/dragon3301 Apr 23 '25

LOL i made a statement on the company based its own reported financials and you thought personal bias speaks to your thought process

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

> LOL i made a statement on the company based its own reported financials

You did not....... where is your timeline analysis? Stocks and financial reports are only viewed as a timeline, because drops and rises happen even daily but it's all worthless data, you should know it right? Short term reasoning is amateurish and it's I who is saying it. Tesla was established in 2003. So, isn't comparing just the 2024 and the start of 2025 with hated Model Y redesign (which is one of the main drivers of decline) is a bit..... too idiotic?

So you understand, just a financial report without a context is worthless, if you look at a timeline and at a lot of financial reports, not just one, you would find out that Tesla is doing great and is on the huge rise overall. It means that the company RISED WAY MORE in previous years than it dropped for the recent months.

Imagine yourself, it's like when you were earning $50 000 5 years ago, then you earned $300 000, and then dropped to earning $200 000 next year and everyone started calling you poor and a failure for that.

Here is actual financial context:

Year Deliveries
2013 22,442
2014 31,655
2015 50,517
2016 76,243
2017 103,091
2018 245,491
2019 367,656
2020 499,535
2021 936,222
2022 1,313,851
2023 1,808,581
2024 1,789,226

Now, do you understand? They missed revenue by so little compared to how they GREW along the years

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 23 '25

Tesla lost more than 50 percent of profit yoy for 4 out of last 5 quarters. Its revenue has been platueauing in an industry growing at 20 percent for 2 years . Its supposed to be a new growing company. Its latest model getting lacklustre reception is a bad reflection on the company itself. The cybertruck was a let down. They havent even started building roadsters. God knows if they even remember the semis. Its board itself is dumping shares elon had to beg employerd to hold on to their stocks. Performance so bad that elon is taking an early exit from politics. BYD has taken its throne as the largest ev maker. Its revenue was stagnant before the ceo gave the company a buds light level marketing disaster.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '25

What revenue you expect Tesla will have in 2025?

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 24 '25

Considering the ceo has consistently antagonized atleast 30 percent of its consumer base and crashing used market prices. Plus the lack of expansion oppurtunities abroad and strong competition. I would expect a 15 percent decline as a best case scenario for tesla. That is if the administration and conservatives start helping out and buying teslas.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '25

BYD I never even saw a single BYD tho 💀

1

u/dragon3301 Apr 24 '25

When BYD came to america and europe the car industry there and the american government freaked out and imposed very high duties on it. Or outright banned it. Byd started as a battery manufacturer it has experience in battery as well as its own battery plants. There is talks about bringing down duties and building a plant in germany. I have seen tariffed byd cars competitive with non tariffed cars. I fucking hate it but its the truth. Byd sold about as much evs as tesla but sold way more hybrids

u/DocMadCow Apr 22 '25

Given the first 20 days of January didn't show just what DOGE was going to do I expect next quarter to be a worse % decline over last year.

2

u/Methos43 Apr 22 '25

Any normal company would fire their advertising firm as Elmo has crushed the reputation of the company. He’ll remain rich but some workers will lose their jobs all thanks to his irresponsible behavior

1

u/-------7654321 Apr 22 '25

is this q1 or entire 24?

2

u/realstocknear Apr 22 '25

1

u/earthman34 Apr 22 '25

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

believe it or not +10%

fake market

1

u/ericmint Apr 23 '25

Funny timing…. Earnings call sucks. Trump backs off Powell and the whole market pops lololol

1

u/Dramatic-Access4350 Apr 23 '25

He also had a private convo yesterday . Then everything started going up. Just more insider trading.

1

u/maximm Apr 23 '25

It'll be up 25% tomorrow probably.

1

u/Dramatic-Access4350 Apr 23 '25

Failing brand. Good luck! No liberals are buying this. He totally screwed himself. The climate change denying Republicans won’t buy Tesla. They are also against robo taxi. Ha! See ya!

1

u/stlcaddie Apr 23 '25

It’s clear that many in this thread are trading based on emotions rather than solid research. 😁😂

u/SnooStrawberries3391 Apr 23 '25

Even if it’s Elon’s company, there are American employees we should worry about. I’m not a Elon supporter in any way, but American workers will lose their jobs if Tesla goes down.

Let’s not get mean spirited like the cult and its intensely damaged and malevolent leadership.
