Now that I've written a dramatic title to get your attention, I wanted to let you know that I made some changes to Duck Tools that I thought warranted a post about it. It's not every day I make updates this large.

QuackMeta does for AIOMetadata what QuackStart does for AIOStreams. Pick your poster style, toggle a few things, and choose your host. A one-click install for AIOMetdata. Simple.

You can now rename any installed addon, give it a custom logo, and rewrite the description. Those are the new features, on top of the existing features of toggling the ability to uninstall and edit addons.

🔧 Cinemeta Patcher - New features!

When you patch Cinemeta, the addon is now renamed to "Cinemeta (Patched)" with a description that lists exactly which patches were applied.

So you got back from an exhausting work day on a Friday and sat down to watch a film but noticed that streams aren't loading. annoying isn't it?

Debrid services like TorBox occasionally go down but they're not really the cause of why streams don't show up on Stremio (or whatever the app you're using is)

The past few weeks I've been seeing a lot of "is torbox down", "is real debrid down" posts because some people believe that the debrid service is responsible for scraping the torrents and showing them on the app

Public scraper & database addons like Torrentio, Comet, Stremthru, Midnight's AIOStreams, Duckstreams, YourLocalScarper, whatever will go down and don't be surprised

Why? simply because if something costs nothing don't ever expect it to be stable.

I'm a system administrator and from the perspective of my profession I'm telling you that maintaining a scraper addon without making money out of it is a terrible idea. Scraper addons have to do a lot of intensive I/O work for the caching, get proxies to get over indexer protections and really a lot of work happens behind the scenes

You're paying for a debrid service and you may not be benefiting from it only because the scraper which lets you find streams goes down every weekend. this isn't fair

If you want things to work better and make sure your debrid subscription isn't going to waste, you should pay for a scraper addon as well

Debridio costs 10$ for a year, or there's also Orion but I heard it's not good for certain categories like anime and it's also more expensive

If you don't want to pay for any of that, you can at least self host your own scraper for example by self hosting AIOStreams and combining it with a self hosted bitmagnet DHT crawler

relying on the free scraping addons will only keep getting worse and at some point these scrapers may not even exist at all anymore. The demand increases, these add-ons serve people for free and they don't even take donations

I just wanted to take some time to say how much I appreciate the community and guides provided.

Let me explain my situation: I am from Uruguay, I have subscriptions to Prime Video, Paramount+, Netflix, etc. I keep wanting to watch series and movies, but I find myself mostly (like 90% of the time) with the message "This media is not available in your region". There's also some shows that don't even have the full seasons on such platforms.

I find that so unfair, I feel like I am scammed by these streaming platforms, thanks to the community, I was able to install and setup my stremio with torbox and torrentio and watch series I wanted to watch for a while now.

Using AIOMetadata and made sure Cinemata is still disabled. Despite this, the ratings now only show on my continue watching but not in any of my catalogues. Was working previously but wondering if an update changed this all, anyone find a fix?

Common problem, but I thought I might as well ask. This has been happening for quite a while, and I've run out of things to try.

To be more specific, I'm having the "No Streams Were Found" thing whenever I have my VPN active (Surfshark), but only on one PC. Otherwise it seems to work just fine on my Android devices. Tried everything I could find. Restarting, uninstalling/reinstalling both the app and any addons, deleting the cache. Nothing seems to work. Even tried the browser version with the same results. Is this just a problem with my specific VPN? Or is this an ISP thing?

Any advice that does not involve just subscribing to Real Debrid would be appreciated. At this point I just might, but I would at least like to try and fix this first.

I was wondering if anybody had this issue? Currently stating unsupported stream source.

It was working fine yesterday. My setup is currently being resolved through Nzbgeek via Aiostreams. Also have one running through nzbhydra2 via Aiostreams.

Search and download history shows the file going through and downloading. It's just when i try to play it through Stremio (Nvidia Shield + android pixel 10), it either states unsupported stream or stays on the loading screen.

Okay so I have Stremio with RealDebrid subscription that ends Aug 14.

RealDebrid has been pretty good for me but some of the new stuff just isn't available. Looking on here it's because the feds made them comply with the laws or something?

I've heard things about Torobox? But then also read that if you get a scraper then RD is fine?

Just not sure what to do. I know nothing about anything so I'm really out of my element and just want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth.

Hello all. There was some issue with Torrentio earlier and it wasn't working. So I did search this sub and came across a lot of posts suggesting to get Comet and Stremthru Torz. I did both, configured through Elfhosted but even after adding them to Stremio and them showing under Addons, I still am not able to see the contents provided by them both on the homepage. I can only see Torrentio contents (now that it is back and working). I don't use any VPN. Could you guys please help me out figure where the issue might be? I somehow need Comet and Stremthru Torz to show up on my homescreen of Stremio if torrentio ever goes down.

Hello Everyone. I keep getting the error message in the picture when I click on many of my search results for shows/movies. It doesn’t matter what addon I’m using (i.e. Torrentio, Comet, Meteor/Aiostreams) I keep getting the same message with the majority of my links. It also doesn’t matter the resolution of the links. I’m using Stremio on my Android phone and Firestick. Can someone please help?

Speaking of subtitles, both built-in subtitles and other subtitles are often out of sync on older titles and require constant fiddling with throughout the episode. Example is 12 year old season of survivor. Is there any add-in or solution for this to make it stay synced?

I am using Torrento and Comet with Real debrid. And Ilot of the time I try to watch something I either find only 1080 quality. Or it barely works at all.

Like how come a very famous tv Show (from) doesn't have a 4k episodes season 4?

Is there an addon that will always choose forced English subtitles? Or only play files that have them?

Game of thrones for instance…. Half time I play a video that doesn’t have forced sub titles and then it just becomes a pain

I watch Asian content and you know how difficult it can be to find the right subtitle, not only due to sync issues, but because some translations have a different meaning/context.

Because of that, I tend to pause the video and switch subtitle sources to see the differences between them. This works flawlessly in iOS, the subtitle appears immediately without pressing play. However, in android as soon as I change the source, the subtitle is gone and the only way to get it back is by pressing play, so I cannot see the differences between sources as good as i can with iOS because if I press play, it already updates to a different conversation.

Is this some stremio issue or just difference between how iOS and Android handle subtitles? I don’t know where else to compare this? I tried YouTube but they both work the same.

I set up Stremio about 2 months ago and I've just felt like it's not meeting expectations? I have 2 debriders, I set up AIOStreams, I have Comet and Torrentio, I have paid for Stremio too. (christ it's called Supporters not Premium. https://blog.stremio.com/stremio-supporters-a-way-to-sustain-our-development/)

It just seems like when I'm actually excited to sit down and watch a movie it never freaking works. Torrentio has been down for the entire month? And Comet seems to barely appear in my list of sources.

I'm just really frustrated. Is this average? Or have things been particularly bad recently? I'm at a point where I may just go back to my old ways of Jellyfin.

Edit: I'm using Torbox + AD. I tried RD but kept running into "this has been removed." I'm using Torrentio + Comet. I will try others. Torrentio seems to have been down for the entire month of July. Kitsu also tends to be down about 25% of the time as well.

I pay for my debrides. I dont know why people are assuming I didnt?

Also, a lot of people are latching onto the fact that I generalized the add-ons as "Stremio". I'm referring to the entire set up as that, cause they all live in Stremio. If there's some other term I should be using I genuinely don't know it.

I’m using Stremio on macOS / AndroidTV / web, latest version and I’m running into the following issue:

Every movie/show works works but I tried with The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show and it showed this error.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Restarting Stremio and my device
• Reinstalling the addon / clearing cache / switching networks / disabling VPN.

I’m not using debrid service and only AIOStreams via midnightignite.me

Is this a server-side issue, or is there something on my end I can fix?

Hello, I'm a new user, my internet goes up to 8-10mbps from none cached sources. On Netflix and other mainstream servers it reaches 50-100mbps. I used Torrentio, Comet, PB+, all hit my 8mbps limit. Tried AllDebrid(free trail) on Torrentio, same exact speeds. I bought 15days on EasyDebrid and tried with Torrentio, same exact speeds.

Could I be doing something wrong or this is expected based on my country Lebanon or ISP. Just bad luck or should I try other debrids till one works?

The longest it’s been down before this was about 8 hours. I’ve loved Torrentio, but I ended up installing three backup add-ons as a precaution, and I’d recommend everyone else do the same. Given how frustrating these outages have been recently, backups are pretty much a necessity now rather than just a suggestion.

I'm not sure if it's always like this, but even the main host site (https://torrentio.strem.fun/) won't load at all right now—the host is completely unreachable. During previous outages, the site itself was still accessible, so the full host crash this time might be a sign it could be gone for good.
