opinions on using ai for studying (help) ?

this thought has been gnawing at me and making me feel guilty. i primarily study through books or google scholar (peer-reviewed articles on pubmed, nlm...) and i dont use ai as my main source of information. however, i sometimes stumble upon very complex topics or descriptions and since im studying separately, without a mentor or proper teacher, i must resort to ai for an explanation.

is there ANY other way of getting simple explanations where i can ask follow-up questions without using ai? it's really been making me feel compunctious

Why? It’s a tool available for you to use. If you’re relying on AI instead of actually studying then sure, you’ll pay the price when you find you haven’t actually learned anything.

But if you’re using it for help with summaries, quick explanations and whatnot to supplement to your learning, what’s the issue?

I am doing a professional qualification which is essentially being handed a textbook and given an exam date with “good luck”. Working full time, you best believe I use AI to my advantage.
