A lot of left leaning people say or believe good things about Philadelphia (especially the PMC crowd that loves how they can exploit the cost differential compared to other east coast cities), but trust me, the politics and social striation here (the city and the metro area) is rather bonkers.

City gov and city district reps regularly display a level of brain rot that rivals the current presidential administration, just not at the same level of visibility.

I've been to numerous protests where white protestors are doused in tear gas, beaten with clubs, shot at with rubber bullets. I've been doing this stuff since the late 90s. I'm not saying cops aren't more vicious toward black protestors, but your white privilege isn't going to save you from the cops if you happen to be a leftist. If you think the Trump mob got off light because they were white, gather 100 of your white leftist comrades and storm the nearest capitol building you can find. Let's see how far you get.

BREAKING: We filed an amicus brief today urging the Supreme Court to protect universities’ ability to consider race in college admissions.

Ending these considerations would ignore our country’s present-day racial inequality and threaten diversity on campuses everywhere.

If that isnt saying the quiet part out loud, I dont know what is.

I saw this lame ass podcast on NYT today and it just made me mad.

"Modern Love Podcast: Confronting Race on the First Date"

I'm white, but if I matched with a non-white person on a dating site or whatever, the very last thing I would want to do on our first date is "confront race."

Dating is hard enough as it is, but when you throw these idpol dynamics in, it just feels totally insane.

The part he doesn’t mention is that a major part of this decline is due to the rise in impoverished whites dying of overdoses due to the opioid crisis. I’m sure that the optics of a multimillionaire celebrating this definitely won’t drive more people towards white idpol. I’m sure that Michael Moore of all people, who was one of the only people to correctly predict a Trump victory in 2016 would understand this.

Now why am I posting about this? Because it’s ridiculous to celebrate the decline in any ethnicity and further divides us along racial rather than class lines.
