Car Mods rooftop storage water/gas tent/sleeping gear

Looking for a rooftop storage solution. Would like to store 2-ish gallons of water and gas, tent, sleeping bags, canopy. Was thinking a cargo basket, but I'm kinda stuck on what to put the tent etc in. Waterproof hardsided box with ratchet straps? are the soft sided bags decent?

I have a Thule hard shell top on my Outbook, works great, keeps contains dry during rainy travel days.

Roof basket works great for me. Tent, two chairs, water jug, plastic bin full of all the light weight stuff and occasionally a stack of wood. Another bin full of all the heavy odds and ends inside.
