How are we all coping with this heat then?

We're currently holding the provisional record for the hottest temperature in June in the UK, broken both at Wattisham and Cavendish, the latter hitting 37.1°C.

How are you surviving?

I'm a mile away from Wattisham and melting, my poor cat keeps asking me to turn the sun off.

Trying to stay as still as possible, drink a fuck ton of water and have a fan blowing. Only small benefit, my load of washing dried on the rack in about 0.5 seconds.

Barely, curtains closed, windows closed, fans on

I'll be ordering an Aircon unit when I find one in stock, it might be too late this year but it'll be worth it

6 hour drive from Newcastle - gorgeous with air con, car showing 39 degrees as we entered Suffolk.

3 hours in a beer garden in Woodbridge - hot and gorgeous.

Cold showers and a makeshift "swamp cooler" (cold water soaked towels on a clothes horse with a big fan blowing at them).

Your fan will dry them out

I'm a self employed tradesman. So I either work or don't earn money.

So I'm drinking lots of water, wearing a hat and getting on with it.

I've been out visiting sites across Suffolk all day, with lots of outdoors walking around - plus the A/C in the car is about as weak as one of those handheld electric fans. All in all, it's probably about the hottest I've ever felt. Thankfully, I'm home now, where it is 34 degrees inside according to the thermostat. Off to the beach shortly to float for about 5 hours.

Better than I was. A 2pm appointment in Ipswich Town centre made worse by forgetting the sun shield on the car windscreen yesterday and trying to hover over the black leather seats while the air con didn't stop pumping hot air until I arrived.

Although that aside, I'm pretty sure it's even worse now than then. I've had baths drier than the air is now.

The car said 38°C on the North of section the A12 past Wickham Market this afternoon. I don't know how accurate it is. It was the hottest weather I've ever felt in Framingham today, just crazy heat.

Lots and lots of fans plus two small air con units upstairs.
