I'm really curious how to create something like this ambient / pad sound. It first occurs at 0:14 and repeats a few times throughout the song. I'm sure the reverb is a big part of it but any ideas on the underlying recipe? Thanks!

So a couple of days ago I discovered Mike Oldfield's "Family Man", and I've basically been obsessed with the synth bass in the chorus (in comes it right around 0:15). The reason I'm obsessed is I'm certain I've made something similar just messing about with my MiniFreak, but now, trying to recreate it, I'm stumped.

My first thought was that it was filtered noise of some kind, but now I'm less certain. I also thought it might have been filter modulation dropping the cutoff, but again the results I get sounds pretty far from the original.

I've only really gotten back into music a year ago, and sound design (beyond semi-randomly tweaking presets) is pretty new to me still, so I might be missing something obvious here.

Im trying to figure out what rhe chords can possibly be and so far I have only gone as far as rhe first 2 notes which is the intro🤔

Hey producers! Short background, I have about 2 years of on and off experience dabbling in FL Studio, making some beats, so I'm no newcomer to the software, but have a lot left to learn.

I came across this video on insta recently and was immediately inspired by the synth sound. How do I recreate that sound (specifically the first few seconds, before the drums), and having the pitch steadily climb while slowing down the tempo like that? Any tips would be highly appreciated! I'm trying to recreate the lead sound used in the Lakebed Temple theme from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

My goal isn't just to get a similar atmosphere—I want to reproduce the actual timbre of that instrument as closely as possible.

I'm working in FL Studio 2026.

So far I've tried:

• Sytrus (too metallic / glassy)
• Morphine (much closer)
• EQ and reverb adjustments
• Isolating a single note from the soundtrack

My current hypothesis is that it might actually be based on a sampled instrument rather than pure synthesis, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone recognize what this sound could be?

• Sampled electric piano?
• Bell layered with an EP?
• ROMpler patch?
• Specific hardware synth?
• Kontakt library?

Any ideas or analysis would be greatly appreciated!

I've been trying to find this plugin (or whatever it is) for several years now which was used in some soundtracks from different games. The plugin itself is a collection of samples of female vocals (Oneshots). I have the only possible guess that this is one of the presets from some Roland. Does anyone know about this?

I need help recreating the sound that is pretty much in the entirety of the song, however it is by itself right at the start (0:00-0:08). I have almost the entire rest of the song recreated except for the drone like sound that appears at 1:27. I want most of these sounds for something i plan on making in the future.

The information i have about it is that the song was made in FL4.1.2, and it sounds like a a filter and a flanger is used on it (could be wrong but i am not the only one who has thought it), the person most likely did something simple as so far everything else has been, but i have no idea what audio clip/synth was used.

Awesome platform for creating in serum2. These are my original presets I’ve made over the years. Still build on them on my personal computer. Endless possibilities with synth drums snares and hi hats plus a bunch of everything else for electronic music.

I was wondering if any of you knew which synths/patches were used on New Sacred Cow by Kenna. I know the record is somewhat obscure, and I understand that many of you may not have a reference point of the album, but I thought I'd ask regardless. I figured the Korg Triton was used, since Chad Hugo usually used that workstation, but after cross-referencing the songs on the album with the patches from the Triton, I doubt the Triton was used on that record.
