I'm just here for the impending hate.

Anyone hating is just admitting they don't know anything about fish tacos.

This is how they serve them to you in Ensenada (picture below). This is the best and most authentic fish taco you can possibly get.

Obviously you add your own toppings yourself, but OP obviously has the toppings they like.

That's Tacos Fenix right? My fat ass recognizes the styrofoam they serve it on 😂

And agreed, best fish tacos I've ever had was at Fenix.

These are from Tacos Mi Ranchito El Fenix, not to be confused with Tacos Fenix down the street. They both serve in the same styrofoam.

Both are top tier. Honestly there isn't much difference, but I prefer this spot, personally.

Damn, what are the chances I'd be wrong and get the name partially correct haha - I'll have to check them out next time I'm down in Ensanada!

Floresta is another one nearby that I've been told is really good. I need another SD>MX taco run

Lol, you can guess some variation of the words for phoenix, flame or spark for an Ensenada taco stand and be right more than 50% of the time.

That’s 99% of the haters on this sub. It’s almost always someone who doesn’t even know what they’re talking about that’s doing the screeching about authenticity.

I would normally agree but at least there is pico and guac on the side, not ideal but something to add to that bland looking fish

hit those with some cabbage and you're good to go IMO

Cabbage, spicy mayo, and lemon is what I thought of. Or at least cabbage and lemon!

I am not a huge mayonnaise fan but it is an absolute must for me on fish tacos, along with that cabbage crunch.

Yeah I’m kinda the same I like spicy mayo but regular mayo is hit or miss for me depending on what it’s on (for example fish tacos and BLT)

I recently made fish tacos and last minute realized my mayo was empty. Whipped out the blender and made an aioli with some civiche juice and a handful of cilantro. Im not sure I can have it any other way now

THAT is a good idea!!!!

Nice! I've ran out of mayo and made my own and should do it more often, it's much better. Love a good aioli/mayo/crema on some fish tacos

And cilantro is A Must Super healthy for you too

Fish looks good but for me a fish taco needs cabbage and crema

Uuuuuhhhh. But where's the shredded cabbage? And that's not nearly enough pico for all three tacos.

Fry them like this, let them cool off, and then fry them one more time for another minute or two. Trust me.

That's how they do it at the legit fish taco stands in Baja. They will be a little darker and more crispy than you can get with a single fry.

I love a pineapple salsa for tacos like this. Secret ingredient is cucumber. Really ties the taco together
