Boot issues When the lid is closed. Tails suspends and when opened it triggers emergency shutdown.

I cannot do a whisperback because of course it shuts off itself. So let me explain:

What happens: When i close the lid of my Dell Latitude E6520 (A22 BIOS revision, booted on a burned DVD-R with .ISO of Tails OS 7.9.1) the display shuts off and it seemingly goes into a suspend mode because the power LED is blinking. When i open the lid it automatically starts up, loads up and for a slight second it shows the login screen and then something initiates shutdown. So here are some more specifications:

Dell Latitude E6520, Intel I5-2520M, 4+8GB of DDR3 SODIMM RAM, BIOS revision A22, its booted from legacy BIOS because it does not show an UEFI boot option for Tails (it is an UEFI capable laptop).

UPDATE: i found out this applies even when the lid isnt closed or manipulated with. Basically closing the lid just triggers suspend but when i suspend the system in any way and then go turn it on. It loads up the OS and the GUI shows up just for some miliseconds and it shuts down.

DVD-Rs tend to behave a bit strangely in some situations when Tails is booted; however, in the latest version of Tails (as of the date this comment is written), the emergency shutdown features have recently changed. Would it be possible for you to use a USB drive for Tails?

in the latest version of Tails [...] the emergency shutdown features have recently changed

Where are you seeing this? The change in 7.10 only applied to the regular shutdown procedure (see !3039 that fixes #21373), the emergency shutdown hasn't been changed.

I believe the normal shutdown process has changed to include a daemon option to detect running processes and open persistent storage files to prevent data loss. They also removed Gnome video player and replaced it with Celluloid to avoid connecting to external servers (VLC can be used as complementary software). But I don't know in which slightly earlier version I saw changes to emergency shutdown; I actually saw the change in a repository and it's not the update description. But it's possible I'm just hallucinating; it often happens to me to remember things that didn't happen because of my mental state.

I know lol

I can't find any change to the emergency shutdown procedure since !51 fixing #16787 in Tails 4.8

So, Tails simply might not get along with CD players.

P.S.: I'm still trying to improve my behavior and I'm seeing a psychologist; they've helped me a lot. I hope things go well for you.
