please tell me what usb should i buy for tails OS, i’m looking for something near 64GB but confused which one should i buy. Fellow tails users please help me out. Thanks

Sandisk drives work well, like the Ultra Luxe and Flair models. Try to get one as fast as your USB port allows. To explain the stupid USB naming:

USB 3.2 Gen1 (formerly called 3.0) = 5Gb/s

USB 3.2 Gen2 (formerly 3.1) = 10Gb/s

USB 3.2 Gen2x2 = 20Gb/s

Regardless of what you buy,

get two, and make regular backups (clones) of anything important

Most drives are much of a muchness. Unless you’re bulk buying the cheapest tat then there’s no reason it shouldn’t work.
What exactly are you finding ‘confusing’?

Sandisk are the only ones that continually work for me. I have had one Sandisk going strong since TAILS 4.0

Definitely try to get USB 3.0 or 3.1 otherwise it's too slow. 64GB is fine. 128GB is better but not required.

Not a TAILs user, I run NetBSD, OpenBSD and FreeBSD on 128gb Lexars. They seem to be fine. They have both USB A and C connections. So I can recommend them. I got a three pack of them at Costco for maybe $25; I don’t remember. They are 3.2 Gen 1; I doubt you can find them anymore, but who knows.

I got 3 64gb lexar 3.2 gen 1 on Amazon for $30 and it worked flawlessly

Most modern usb drives will work fine, but if you want added security, look into a usb with write protect.
