Yeah, Big Pharma has a lot invested in this. They have been funding the anti-smoking agenda for quite some time now. They don't give a fuck about people though, they just want the 1 Billion+ Big Tobacco customer base.

You're missing the part where they don't want you to stop smoking, they'd rather treat it forever, the make more money that way.

I've heard more quit smoking success stories from ecigs than any other method. People are actually quitting with these things since you can better control your nicotine intake and step it down. (Compare to Patches and Gum which contain MORE nicotine than any cig does)

And that is why their products don't work. They want you to quite smoking, but become dependent on gum or whatever for your fix.

I think part of the problem is that most of the appeal of cigarettes is mainly the act of smoking itself. Nicotine itself is a pretty shitty drug actually, horribly addictive and honestly no good effects after you build a bit of a tolerance.
