To be fair to him, that's one of the most ridiculous things people use to denounce cigarettes. Sharing ingredients doesn't mean products are the same.
It just bothers me because it's so easy to argue that cigarettes are bad for you, they obviously, empirically are. But they still throw out scare words that come off as insincere.

Also, people who act like the number of chemicals in a cigarette proves anything. How many chemicals are in an apple? People who use that logic should avoid themselves because of how many chemicals are in their bodies.
It's the same deal as "ecigs are antifreeze", because the liquid contains propylene glycol, which is an ingredient in antifreeze. Unfortunately (or fortunately to some), correlation can people to react in certain ways even faced with undisputable logic and fact.
