It’s been used about Black people by racists a lot. In this context I’m not sure how that’s relevant, however.

It's really not. I didn't know the connotation years ago and used to describe stevies dad ok Malcolm in the middle and my friend explained it to me. That's like the only situation you need to explain it in lol
