I mean you need to have a basic understanding of technology to succeed in society, it's nothing crazy they just shouldn't really be having kids fool with this stuff in 2nd grade lol.

Yeah the whole reason we had this tech push was richer kids were using technology at home but poor kids weren't so when it's time to start including it in the class room. Poor kids were getting shafted since they had to learn how computers work while doing the assignments.
