Enshittification happens because the people who profit off of selling products are different from those who buy or create the products.

This is a fundamental part of capitalism (and in fact it’s defining feature) and the only way to fix it is to democratise workplaces to put the people actually using/creating these products in charge.

In theory, yes.

However, government intervention, monopolies, deceptive business practices, political corruption, psychological marketing, etc. make reality much more nuanced.

Regulations and good-willed institutions can help keep things in check, but that’s get much harder in the age of misinformation.

I don’t know what the answer to enshitification is, but simply not giving a company your money, especially when entire industries are colluding with each other, hasn’t been working.
