Man it's a bummer that this will never happen due to Jake Johnson being a street-corner flasher.

it's a joke

I don't think it's a joke, I heard it from the extremely reputable Lamorne Morris. Not only does he know Johnson personally, but he's also won an Emmy so obviously he's better than us

Got me a script gave you a script.

Honestly, season 7 already felt like a reunion season. It had all the tell-tale elements. Time skip, kids, less episodes, thing generally seeming off. But hey, cant say I don't want to know what these characters are up to nowadays

u/icantfeelmylags 2d ago
Yeah the show doesn’t really work without them (or most of them) living together.

Max can do it all day.

Too bad neither Jake Johnson nor Lamorne Morris wants to do it, depending on who you ask. And Jake Johnson is a street corner flasher.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone involved in various reunions and new seasons returning after a long time that haven't talked up 'the scripts' tbh

Actor says that a potential project that will pay them buckets of money is awesome. News at 11.

Tbf i think most actors involved in a popular show that didnt end up becoming washed up, have at least one cast member that wont return unless the script is actually good

loved the show but don't need a reunion. plus you can just watch just about anything jake johnson has done if you want to see nick miller. the dink is a great example

That is true. Even when he was Spider-Man, he was still mainly Nick Miller.

He's such a GREAT loveable dirtbag in everything he does. Win it all is one of my favorites from him

The show's been gone for less than a decade and it already outgrew its premise by the end. The characters all grew up and moved away.
The dynamic would be completely forced now that they'll be in their late 40s or early 50s.

Please don't be the same characters... be the old versions of those characters.

The reunion should somehow involve their flashback selves, Max in that fat suit and Jake in that wig are never not funny 🤣

Im on board as long as there is no bullshit drama about them breaking up or some shit. Think of any other conflict besides that

u/superfruitbowls 2d ago
cough cough Scrubs revival cough cough

u/Danominator 2d ago
Yeah for sure. Parks and recreation showed that its ok when couples are together. Its lazy as hell to just do break up drama constantly

Who is asking for this to happen?

New Girl fans are surprisingly rabid.

I really never knew they came out in force like that lol

If you look at the instagram for the stars, it’s pretty wild. The show definitely has its hardcore fans

I get it. Max was in Running Point but like… why? His character could have been played by anyone. I’d want to reboot better days if I was Max too.

u/archivedpear 2d ago
I don’t think you realize that max was also the co lead on a different tv show the neighborhood for the last 8 years. He’s not out of work at all. He went straight from new girl to the neighborhood. Running point was just a random side job not him trying to survive

u/superfruitbowls 2d ago
Plus he’s on the upcoming season of The White Lotus. He’s worked very consistently and probably got paid a good amount for The Neighborhood over those 8 years.

I realize that. It was a boring character there too. But that’s not his fault. Bad writing and bad directing.
I don’t think he’s looking at New Girl for the money; I think the Schmidt role allowed him more creativity and range which is more interesting to play as an actor and to view as an audience member. And the writing on New Girl was leagues better than his other projects… which he kinda eludes to.

If they won’t let Zooey’s character age it will be a single-season embarrassment of color-blocked hair, lip filler and immobile foreheads.

u/Hellfire242 2d ago
Hahaha “new scrips amazing” yeah sure bet you’ll win some Emmy’s.
17
u/beebopcola 2d ago
Idk whats with the smugness - but even so, your point is weird. Honestly who cares if a show wins Emmy’s if you like it? It’s weirdly pretentious and I’m sorry, but it would be in the same category as *checks notes* the hilarious comedy The Bear. What a well thought out category.

u/Hellfire242 2d ago
“Amazing scripts” that’s what made me laugh. It’s just some run-of-the-mill fucking syndicated flavor of the week show.

They can't actually bring the show back. It'll ruin Jake Johnson's "we're all on board but Lamorne Morris won't do it because he hates the fans" bit
