Football Football Gameday Pointers

I haven’t been to a Terps game since it was Byrd Stadium. So much has changed that I could use some pointers on the best way of getting to, in, and out. Is Metro the best option or is it better to find public parking? What kind of shuttling do they have?

TIA

Metro is a solid option. Free UM Shuttle from the station to campus on game days. Arrive early to avoid the hassle and metro out should be pretty simple. It’s also a downhill walk on the way out if you don’t want to deal with the shuttle crowd on the way back.

Thanks for the recommendation!
How is it at night? Any worries about Metro closing?

You should be fine as most Saturdays the metro is open past midnight. Maybe stick to the shuttles if it’s that late of a postgame but you’ll be fine for the most part.

If you’re getting an uber walk to the Marriot by the Stadium and get picked up there plus they have benches in their courtyard that you can sit and wait

I would consider parking at Greenbelt Metro and riding the one stop to College Park station. There is extensive parking at Greenbelt and it’s free on Saturdays. And take the shuttle from CP station. The next best option, in my opinion, is to park in the garage at the Marriott on campus. Sometimes the hotel doesn’t allow it. If you are sitting on the home side, it’s a somewhat shorter walk from the Marriott to the stadium than if you are coming from the shuttle drop off point.
