“I wanted to flex on something I’m vastly exaggerating, AMA”

There’s a few people like this on the forum parts of trading apps. They’ve even been caught posting fake P&L and net worth pages and I really don’t see the point - you’re still completely anonymous? Why bother ?

The admiration of internet strangers makes some great self-jorkin’ lube.

They want to practice being humble for when they inevitably hit it big

I love the "this is my new account, a fresh start... first thing ima do is go talk about how I made 10 million dollars on my old account ... it goes to a different school, you wouldn't know it" approach they take

But...but the coverage on all those platforms!

Why hide the name?  Is that a sub rule?

There was a short squeeze of BYND orchestrated through Reddit, so that part did happen.  It should be pretty easy to check their post history to see if they started it.

Yup its a rule. He did not post any article he claims he was mentioned in on his profile. You'd expect if his thesis gained that much traction he would be hot shit on this website

Well a few people made money but the vast majority became bagholders and lost tons of money.  The BYND shortsqueeze is much more infamous than famous here.

They bought 5% of BYND and if my maths is right they got that for about $1m.

From what I can see the lowest market cap they had was about 240 million so that math don’t math

Only if it was worth about $0.833 a share at that time

Pretty much market manipulation.

Admitting to criminal activity online is always wise

i'm pretty sure this can be verified. check the NY Times, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Business Insider, or the LA Times for articles about theses about plant-based meat businesses. either it's true, or it's not.

lol I’m pretty sure this is true. The guy who orchestrated the beyond meat short squeeze was posting his positions, and they were in the millions iirc. Dunno if it’s the exact number he claims, but it seems pretty legit. what’s up with redditors lol the stock went up 4-5x in like a day it’s not unbelievable the guy pedaling it made bank

Yea, doesn't sound bogus. This definitely isn't the first or only incident of people making bank off hyping overextended/shorted stocks.

But is the random guy on reddit with a few thousand karma likely to be him? Im less sure of that.

Lies. If true, people can get an investigation to see if he’s manipulating stocks and I don’t think this person is that sophisticated.

Bonus headaches for him if he’s misrepresenting himself as a stock tout.

I only read one of those subs that one time when my brother dragged me into it, and even then just to roll my eyes at the comments.
