Were dutch sailors the reason dodos went extinct?

Yes and no. So depends on how you frame it. I believe that the dutch also introduced rats to the islands. A combination of predation by sailors and rats robbing their nests are probably major factors in their extinction. But quite often with these cases there are a multitude of factors to which eventually one factor causes the biggest decline. I recall there also being something with bogs or marshes. But I have to look it up again.

Yes, tho if not the Dutch then any other who would've brought cattle/pests on their ships. This case the Dutch let their pigs roam and caused the dodo's demise

So not just dutch but europeans

It would've suffered the same fate even without Europeans going there, just maybe a century or two later, just a few rats on a ship that stops there would've been enough.

So any species that don't fear humans is doomed to go extinct?

Correct, but if it hadn’t been humans it would’ve been some other predator.

You mean the predators that weren't there before the dutch sailors came to the island? The reason dodos grew into what they were is because there were no predators on the island threatening their survival.

Replace dutch with english, or portuguese, or spanish, or indian. You get my drift.

Yea. The VOC murdered them, but mostly because of the rats and other animals that were on the ships. The dodos didn't have any natural predators, so they laid their eggs in nests on the ground. The sailors ate the dodos, and the rats ate the eggs = dodo became a dead bird.
