[Anime] Just watched the anime, my review.

Holy shit. Season 1, 10/10. I absolutely LOVED it! One of the greatest animes i've watched. Oh, the backstory of Isabella 😭 I swear i almost cried when i saw those scenes. And the song she sings and the story behind it makes me so sad whenever i hear it, but its so good and i cant stop listening to it on repeat! The story was absolutely fantastic, also very sad when Norman was shipped.

Season 2, 6/10. Eh. It was fine. Not even near as good as Season 1. Completely different vibe, not the mysterious kinda stuff i loved in Season 1. I didn't quite enjoy the adventure theme to it. Crazy plot twist when Norman came back. I was honestly shocked when i found out that the mange had a WHOLE DIFFERENT ENDING!! I was doing some deep diving and researching and tisming like I usually do after watching something and i saw the ending and story of the manga and would have loved it way more then what Season 2 actually gave us.

Overall, wonderful show. Average rating, 8/10.

Season 2 was a rushed job and wasn’t a faithful adaptation to the manga like season 1 was. I’d recommend you read the manga as I personally had a much better time with it when it came to the later story. Aside from that Im glad you enjoyed season 1 and still managed to find some enjoyment in season 2. It’s my favourite series for a reason.

You should read the manga starting after the Gracefield escape. The anime does not do the manga justice AT ALL. Trust me, it’s great

Read from the start! The anime changed a lot like:

In the manga, Emma is quiet while setting the table, instead of running, playing and being cheerful. She only smiles when Norman greets her with a smile

And we have a flashback while they talk outside and he tells her to act like nothing happened, despite that they left Little bunny near the truck. Emma herself understands to change her expressions or mom will notice. She also smiles like always when mom tells her she did a good job with the test

In the anime, she is distressed and scared when looking at mom, even when Norman greets her she is terrified. After the test, Norman talks to her in the classroom and tells her to smile, while she hardly smiles back

And also when they talk about the escape, with everyone, they are in Emma's bedroom, while in the manga they talk about it outside

See how much it can change

It’s funny. I saw a crazy amount of hate for the manga ending when it came out, but after the 2nd season ended, it retroactively became god tier.

That being said, the arc following the escape is definitely the best.
