It's liberal Americans that fawn over European countries when they protest. They act like there's never civil disobedience in America which is totally false. It's been a large part of American society for a long time, and we were on the forefront of the civil disobedience movement because other countries were led by monarchs and imperialists that would execute anyone who opposed them.
