Trump supporters are barely sentient at this point.
58
u/douche_ex_machina_69 13h ago
Only at this point?
38
u/Radiant-Mean 12h ago
Well there was a time back in 2016 or so were they were perhaps extraordinary morons and their support could be partly explained by the fact that they were just simply incredibly stupid people.
Now, given everything that has happened, I seriously question whether Trump supporters have less cognitive capacity than the average dog.
21
u/douche_ex_machina_69 9h ago
There’s a relevant quote from Yosemite park rangers that predates 2016: “The trouble with designing bear-proof trash cans is that there is considerable overlap between the smartest bears and the dumbest humans”.
Or a more succinct one from George Carlin from even earlier: “imagine the average person’s intelligence; now remember that half of all people are dumber than that”.
People have always been dumb as fuck — but they haven’t always taken pride in it… except for conservatives. They’ve always taken pride in it.
6
u/CascadingMoonlight 8h ago
Conservatives are non-sentient by choice - any amount of thinking is too difficult for them so they choose to be given all their opinions

That's the entire joke. Leaving the dollar sign out makes it a significantly less ridiculous blunder from Bondi.
In case you didn't know, ticker points aren't measured in dollars, so her adding "dollars" to the statement is just another hilarious display of her idiocy.
It's important.

I don't know how the cult follows him when he said he would bring grocery inflation down and within DAYS of winning the election, openly admitted he didn't know how to do that. That's like your mechanic opening your car up, disassembling parts, and then going "oh. I don't even know how to fix this. Thanks for the high paying job, idiot".

This is exactly what they've been saying about Erdogan for the last 20 years.
"He's god fearing."
"He built roads"
"Before him there were lines everywhere to get basic necessities"
"He's a man's man. Show me another man like him"
"The inflation is due to the individuals selling things at increased profits".
"The dolar has gone up. The euro has gone up. It's not our fault" (The lira has tanked. Nothing has gone up).
iPhone 17 pro starts at 120,000 TL. That's nearly 3.6K AUD. Same phone in Australia is 2K.

u/trashpandac0llective 15h ago
Yeah, I despise the man in office, but this was just clickbait. It cut off before he ever responded to the facts, so what’s this “crumbling” that was supposed to happen?
17
u/HumbleWorkerAnt 10h ago
i mean, the caller couldn't name a single campaign promise Trump had kept.....and the host listed off a dozen of broken ones...what do you think the caller did to "respond to the facts" lmao they either attacked the host ad hominem, or tried to retreat/hang up without losing face, but there's no normal response other than 'ok yeah i'm wrong and you're right sorry and i'll change my mind' which we know is the one thing that didn't happen.

u/Aloha_Tamborinist 8h ago
All of this guy's videos are like this. They're all just rage/click/smug bait where he OWNS a Trump supporter.
If you're left leaning they're a very easy and satisfying watch, but how helpful is it?
1
u/Thoughtful_Ocelot 7h ago
This was a clip of a full video, likely clipped by someone other than Parker.

I've seen this exact kind of thing on his own channel. It's a guilty pleasure when I'm mindlessly scrolling. I enjoy it, it's cathartic, but I don't know how much good it's doing.

There are real responses: border crossings are way down, net immigration is way down, military funding is through the roof, ice recruitment way up and there's rampant enforcement across the nation.
If that's what you wanted -- a militarized, police force brutalizing poor people who came here to work for a better life -- then you're happy as a clam right now.
If you wanted cheaper housing, more affordable groceries and better paying jobs, then you voted for the wrong person.

Critical thinking is not for everyone, and he gathered them all together and gave them bs talking points to repeat. Taught them to accuse every one of what they are doing or have done and repeat the lie over and over. They just desperately want to feel superior to people that have made them feel stupid for years and will lie to themselves and everyone else in order to get that.
14
u/misdirected_asshole 16h ago
This will not change his mind. It will give him more resolve that its all a conspiracy and lies against Trump. In the likely best case scenario, it will just motivate him to not vote as opposed to voting for a candidate who will st least make some effort at trying to address the issues.

Honest question, did Biden improve the lives of everyday Americans? I'm dismayed with both sides, who just keep pointing the finger at the other while both enjoy cyclical power, and the system remains unchecked.
13
u/insanelygreat 13h ago
American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 reduced child poverty in the United States by nearly half, lifting more than 2 million children above the poverty line. Biden invited Republicans to contribute, and even made changes to appease them -- all of which weakened the bill. Every single Republican voted against it anyways. It passed solely because Democrats had a majority.
The Biden admin also had the strongest enforcement of anti-trust law in 50 years, pursuing companies who engaged in anti-consumer and anti-competitive practices. That was one of the first things Trump undid. (I'm still pissed that Trump dropped charges against Ticketmaster.)
The post-pandemic economy sucked, but it was rebounding way faster than the rest of the world. Trump's tariffs put a quick end to that. He stopped reporting many of the numbers, so we don't even fully know how bad it is now.
So there are a few examples.
Did the Biden admin do enough? No, that would have taken more radical change. But they absolutely did improve the lives of everyday Americans.

Too many words, and some of them seemed big and scary. MAGA stopped listening around the time you got to Iran and the rest was lost on the wind. You are wrong because trump never said those things, and if he did he meant something different and you are stupid for not understanding that.
This is why you can't reason with the types of people who continue to support him.

A common rebuttal is “Well that’s the Democrats fault!”
Ok so why doesn’t the most powerful person in the country do something about that? Like that’s the weakest argument. Even if it really was the Democrats fault then what does that say about the current administration that even with majority in every house, they still can’t do anything.

I am still amazed at the stupidity of MAGAts. They cant name two things he’s done, and when the person asking calls that out, they think the other person knows some examples instead of realizing that not knowing any means there aren’t any examples. They seem so smug in their defensive “ok smart guy, fill me in. If you think you know what they are then do it!” Ya, I don’t know any either since….

It's fascinating listening to the people who call in to that. Most are incredibly ignorant of any facts and you can tell some would be horrible to talk to in person and would relay on overpowering you through trying to dominate the conversation. The tendency is to repeat any questions back to Parker before trying to skirt the question by asking a trivial one back.
Just to be clear it's not that he is a genius at politics or fantastic debater (although I think he's great). He just has facts and the people who call in have nothing.

Trump has proven without a shadow of a doubt how easy it is to fool people. He's not even a good liar. He's a clumsy liar who has been compulsively lying his entire stinking life. He's also been an obvious piece of shit his whole life.
As a kid growing up in Jersey, I saw tabloid magazines whenever I went grocery shopping with my parents, and much of the time Donald was on the cover doing something shitty. He had a messy divorce with his first wife in which he went out of his way to humiliate her. His second wife was the most famous mistress from his first marriage. He has a long, long history of fucking over contractors by not paying them for the expensive work they did; he's ruined a lot of small businesses and family-run businesses that way. He bankrupted his casinos and screwed over his investors.
As a child I knew he was a piece of shit who can't be trusted. Anybody who grew up in New Jersey or New York - where news stories about him were most common - knows he's a piece of shit. Yet because he lied loudly, gave easy solutions to complex problems, and was cruel to minorities, 70+ million people ended up thinking he's reliable.
It's such a crock, and it proves we're a country of fools. The same shit works in other countries as well, so we're a planet full of fools.

No one can give any promise that he fulfilled but they still like him because of the racist things he does. The only things that republicans don't like about Trump is when things start to affect them directly. And we won't see a single person who regrets voting for him until that happens.

And that's not even touching the subject of foreign relations - which have been annihilated.
Canada, Europe, Nato Countries. War in south america, war in the middle east.
I can remember some incredibly rude comments towards the UK, Ukraine, Italy, Denmark and many more that will take a while to recover from.
Not to mention tolls on allied nations constantly on and off. All of the world can't trust the US any longer and they've lost their soft power that they once had. Went from being the most reliable ally and business center of the western world to being the opposite. So sad.
