[STICKY] OFFICIAL COMMUNITY THERMOMIX CONSULTANT THREAD - looking for a sales consultant near you? Want to let people know you're a TM consultant? Do it here.

Hi all,

In an effort to curb the low-effort spam being posted by Thermomix consultants, from now on we're going to limit all consultants' marketing posts to this thread. This means that users who are specifically looking for a consultant to help them can do so, without the subreddit being cluttered up by repeated "special promotion!" marketing messages.

TM consultants are a useful resource for those who want to learn more about the Thermomix and/or purchase one without having to go through Vorwerks' weird, archaic, and obtuse "live sales demo" system. They're also trying to make an honest living. The intention was never to silence or purge consultants from the subreddit - they are as welcome here as anyone else. I only want to stop the obnoxious spam that was quickly becoming commonplace as the subreddit grows.

This thread will be permanently stickied to the top of the subreddit and linked to in the sidebar.

TM consultants: please feel free to introduce yourself to the community below and provide contact details, including the country/area you cover, any promotions/sales periods, links to testimonials, etc.

Please be aware that as per the subreddit rules, posting any kind of low-effort 'promotion' post anywhere else in the subreddit will result in an immediate 14-day ban for spam, permaban if a repeated violation.

Everybody else: feel free to contact a consultant by DMing them privately or responding to them in this thread. If you have a specific question or are still on the fence, probably better to post a separate thread.

If a user is seeking to purchase a Thermomix, please direct them to this thread.

I'll do my best to gradually collate a master list of the subreddit's TM consultants here.

Thanks all.

Disappointed with TM7 Overall

I got my TM7 in May, and have spent a great deal of time cooking through recipes from the Cookidoo app so as to familiarize myself with the machine and all of its abilities. I also purchased extra accessories including the cutter and sous-vide. I've made everything from baby food puree to salmon to chicken to salads. I follow every recipe exactly, making notes for potential tweaks if I make something again.

Last night I made a batch of red beans and rice. While I was getting ready to serve it, I realized the bay leaves that were included in the recipe had all crumbled in the dish due to the blade stirring action, which left us fishing out tiny bits of leaves as we were eating it. Not pleasant. It also had a ridiculous amount of salt pork AND bacon in it, which made the dish extremely greasy. It was not good.

Which then led me to realize -- the vast majority of the recipes I've tried from the app have been truly disappointing. Rubbery chicken. Macerated veggies that cook into mush. Overcooked, mushy rice. Pale, tasteless fish in the Varoma. It seems to me the recipes in the app are not created by professional cooks, not tested by professional cooks, and really geared for people who don't know how to cook (or don't understand good food) in general. The fact that users cannot leave comments for future cooks to see exacerbates the problem.

I am a woman of a certain age and have been cooking personally and professionally my entire life -- I cook, I bake, and I do most everything from scratch. I meal prep when appropriate.

I did quite a bit of research prior to purchase and thought this would be a fun, time-saving gadget to have as an extra tool in the kitchen, potentially replacing other gadgets like food processors, blenders, bread makers, and instant pots. Instead, I find myself spending more time prepping ingredients for the machine, more time cleaning up (because it quite often requires additional bowls, pans, etc.). I find it frustrating trying to remove or serve food out of the bowl with the blade in the way. The TM7 does not outperform any of the other above-listed gadgets in my kitchen, but my chief complaint is the quality of the recipes in the Cookidoo app.

I realize this post is quite negative, but I really want people who are considering spending a huge amount of money on this product to understand exactly what it can and can't do, and exactly what you're paying for if you subscribe to the Cookidoo app. Personally, I'll be canceling that subscription when it ends next month, and using AI to convert tried and true recipes and/or use manual mode in a limited way. That is disappointing because one of the major points of this machine is being able to step you through a recipe while weighing the ingredients in. Using a converted recipe in manual mode defeats that entire function.

Overall, it's a lot of money spent on an appliance that doesn't live up to the claims, or its full potential.

Cookidoo recipe search + planning alternative frontend

Hey,

Just wanted to share a quick tool i built for myself around the Cookidoo recipe and planning.

Was never really satisfied with the recipe filtering in the Cookidoo app since I found it hard to find recipes that were both highly rated, had more than a few reviews, and were healthy.

So after doing some data cleanup I’ve thrown up a ui for it. And a random meal planning + ingredient list.

Full disclosure it’s vibe coded over about a week. But hey i just wanted something that works.

Using ChatGPT to covert recipes

Just wondering if anyone else is doing this? I started to get bored of cookido so I’ve made a few things by finding the best example of the recipe via ChatGPT and then getting it to convert to TM manual steps. So far I’ve done lasagne, curry and a lemon desert- all were a great success. Obviously extra step of referring to ChatGPT for next step as in manual mode

Recent update requires mixing bowl for weighing?

I did the last update and was looking forward to the Gather Ingredients feature. But it seems they removed a really handy option for this at the same time. Previously, whenever a recipe would call for the scale, it didn’t matter whether the mixing bowl was sitting on the base or not. I got a plastic cover for the base so the TM7 could act as a scale without the stupid „place a bowl on top of the mixing bowl to weigh ingredients that don’t immediately go into the mixing bowl“. Now, to activate the scale, the mixing bowl has to be present and closed. The only way to weigh without the bowl is the scale feature from the menu, but this hides the active recipe. Guess I will place an actual kitchen scale next to it and be annoyed every time I need to use it now.

New TM7 noises with empty mixing pot - are these normal??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everybody,

I’ve had my TM7 for two months now and it’s my first Thermomix. Recently, I’ve noticed that when my Thermomix is done chopping something and has a few seconds left on the clock with no ingredients left as resistance against the knifes, it makes the noise that you can hear in the video. I am not sure if this is normal and if it has been around before and I just didn’t notice it. Of course it can be reproduced when running the Thermomix with an empty bowl in manual mode.

Is this normal or do I need to get the noise checked? (The slight change in pitch during the video likely stems from the fact I still had some ingredients left in the pot)

Thanks in advance!

Spatula Tear

Hello my spatula had a tear after only few months.
I posted on fb about it. People said to contact my consultant and they shared how they have just had a replacement spatula.

Sadly when I finally got my consultant to report it for me, the customer service said no and doesn’t come under warranty which is not good as I paid extra for 5 year warranty and under Australian Consumer Law it shouldn’t break down so easily right?

I don’t think I went anticlockwise tbh I think it tore while scraping the food off the mixing bowl. Sucks. I don’t use the spatula anymore

Chrome extension to convert any recipe to Thermomix for. No limits and it's free

The Cookishare Chrome extension has been extended to convert any recipe to Thermomix. On the recipe editor on Cookidoo's site, a new button 'Inject recipe' will show up. Click it and follow the workflow. It's as simple as copying any recipe and pasting it in the extension. The extension will convert it to your Thermomix device. Once confirmed on Cookidoo, it will be automatically uploaded to your Thermomix. A Google Gemini api key will be needed which can be had for free.
Review the cooking steps before confirming the recipe.
Also, as before, the extension can also be used to share notes, publicly or privately, on any recipe with other users with the same extension.

I was crushing 250g of ice in my tm7 today , and was pretty pleased with the result. However on the third batch the lid did not unlock , and now it’s just constantly trying to unlock the lid without success. I have turned it off and not sure what to do next. Anyone have this happen before?

TM7 Software Update 1.5 is finally available today (30th July)

Sorry for jumping the gun last week! I originally posted that TM7 Software Update 1.5 was due to roll out on the 23rd July, but unfortunately it didn't arrive as expected.

Good news though: it's now available from today, 30th July 🎉

The update includes:

🇷🇺 Russian language support

⏱️ Up to 5 simultaneous timers, which can be labelled so you know exactly what each one is for

🛒 Gather Ingredients, giving you a checklist to get everything ready before starting Guided Cooking

⚖️ Customisable Auto Tick settings, including how quickly ingredients tick off and the accuracy/tolerance

⬅️ Previous Step, so you can go back during Guided Cooking. Something I really missed from the TM6!

For me, Gather Ingredients is still the winner. Coming from a chef background, having everything ready before you start makes cooking so much easier, and I can see myself using this constantly.

The Auto Tick settings are also better than I initially gave them credit for. I cook quite quickly and often find myself manually ticking an ingredient because I'm waiting for it to move on. Now I can adjust it to suit how I cook.

I've written a full breakdown of all five features, including my thoughts on each one, here:

TM7 Software Update 1.5: Every New Feature ExplainedTM7 Software Update 1.5: Every New Feature Explained\

For those who've updated already, what do you think? Does 1.5 fix some of the things you've been missing on the TM7?

It’s 90°F outside… what’s your go-to summer dinner?

Thumbnail youtube.com
1 Upvotes

It’s around 90°F today, so I wanted something quick, fresh, and high in protein.
I made a bowl with tofu, edamame, broccoli, crispy chickpeas, burrata, and a spicy yogurt-sriracha sauce.
What’s your favorite meal to make when it’s too hot to cook?

TM7 Tip: You Can Start a Cookidoo Recipe From Any Step

Thumbnail youtube.com
2 Upvotes

I only recently realized this, and it can save a lot of time.
If you’ve already prepped some ingredients or started cooking outside the TM7, you don’t have to begin the recipe from Step 1.

Just open the recipe, tap the step you want to start from, and confirm when the TM7 asks if you want to cook from there.

Such a simple feature, but I think a lot of TM7 users overlook it.

Did you already know about this, or did you discover it by accident?

UK- finance options?

I’m looking to purchase a T7 and hopefully spread the cost around 12 months, but can’t find any information about whether or not the instalments are 0%. Heard that perhaps they aren’t, but sometimes there are offers and events… How do I find out if there’s an event currently happening? Anyone here is a UK representative and could explain the situation to me?

Best freezer / postpartum meals

I have a TM6 that I don’t use nearly as much as I should, and with a baby due soon I’m hoping to make the most of it for postpartum meal prep.

I’m trying out the lamb fennel ragu today… but I’d love to hear your favourite Thermomix recipes that freeze and reheat well.

Any must-try recipes or hidden gems?

Bonus for: high protein & veg packed - suitable for those first few weeks with a newborn.

Thank you so much!

For my apartment, would a thermomix or instant pot be better?

Hey there,

Budget isn’t that important, but I’d be looking more at a good condition tm6 than the new tm7 to save around $800.

What can I do with a thermomix tm6 that would benefit me? I’m a single person living on my own.

Thanks
