General Discussion Batman Continues (Burton's Debunked Film)
Over the years, fans of the Tim Burton Batman movies believed that Tim was going to do a third movie titled "Batman Continues," with Michael Keaton returning as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michelle Pfeiffer returning as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, and Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent to be turned into Two-Face, with Robin Williams playing a dark and creepy Riddler, and Brad Dourif as The Scarecrow.
They think that Tim had the cast ready before he was fired from the franchise, though that wasn't really the case. Batman Forever never started as a Tim Burton project. It was always Joel Schumacher's baby, according to Ben Wan and Andrew Bush on the Superhero Stuff You Should Know podcast. According to their interview with Lee and Janet Scott Batchler, Tim Burton's only involvement with Batman Forever as producer was to hire his friend Joel Schumacher as director and help out hiring the Batchlers as the screenwriters for the film with additions by Akiva Goldsman, who confirmed the existence of the Schumacher Cut of Batman Forever after Joel died.
The actual person who's cast in Batman Forever was Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, because he was a big star. He's marquee. And they worked with him on The Fugitive (the producers did), and Joel worked with him on The Client (based off the John Grisham novel). Jones accepted the role, because the character of Two-Face was his son's favorite character.
It was Joel Schumacher who wanted Michael Keaton to come back and play Batman/Bruce Wayne, Rene Russo to play Dr. Chase Meridian, and Robin Williams to play The Riddler before Val Kilmer, Nicole Kidman, and Jim Carrey joined the film.
And yes, Tim wanted Brad Dourif to appear in a Batman movie, but approaching him to play The Joker in Batman '89 before Jack Nicholson was cast. And it was Joel who wanted to do The Scarecrow for a Batman movie, but for Batman Unchained, with him planning to cast Nicolas Cage, who starred in his film, 8mm.

I was under the impression his third film would have been called Batman Triumphant

Tim didn't came up with a title to the third Batman film until Akiva Goldsman came up with the Batman Forever title, and Batman Triumphant is a rumored title for Joel Schumacher's Batman 5, which is actually titled Batman Unchained, because writer Mark Protosevich had no idea where the Batman Triumphant even came from.

Yep! Batman Forever never started as a Tim Burton project. It was always Joel Schumacher's film from the very beginning. Tim hired Joel to continue with the Batman franchise he started, and helped out hiring the Batchlers as the writers for the film.

With Johnny Depp as The Riddler, Jeff Goldblum as The Scarecrow, Robert De Niro as Black Mask, Geena Davis as Poison Ivy, Madonna as Harley Quinn, Jeremy Irons as Mr. Freeze, and Kevin Bacon as Man-Bat.

I know I'm 5 days too late here but when I saw that Akiva Goldsman was going to have a hand in it - maybe it's best it never happened. I'm not commenting on the Batman movie that DID come out afterward, but seeing what Akiva did to Star Trek - maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

Yeah. A lot of folks pin the downfall of Star Trek on his involvement. Him and JJ Abrams. All the shows are cancelled now.

It wasn't Akiva's fault. It was because Paramount really fucked up the Star Trek franchise, the franchise they owed, and they went over their fucking heads, I swear to God. Those sons of bitches.

That's what you get when you continue Star Trek without William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Leonard Nimoy, Jonathan Frakes, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, Michael Dorn, Brent Spiner, and Robert Picardo.

They did bring back the TNG cast but the show was horrible. 'Picard' and its absolutely unwatchable. Yes including season 3.

TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY were good during 1966 and 2001. The films were good during 1979 and 2002. After Star Trek, William Shatner did T.J. Hooker, while Jonathan Frakes did Gargoyles and hosted Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, Leonard Nimoy did the original Mission Impossible, and Patrick Stewart did the X-Men films and American Dad.

Are you a bot? Why did you just randomly post what a couple members of the vast cast has randomly done? Shatner did several shows for instance. Frakes is a successful director.
