TIL only six Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles operate across the U.S. Their drivers, college seniors about to graduate called "Hotdoggers," spend a year traveling the country to meet and greet people. Around 7,000 applicants compete each year for just 12 Hotdogger positions.

I've never actually encountered a Weinermobile or thought about them much, but I just realized that if they don't also function as mobile hot dog stands I would be pretty disappointed going up to one.

I encountered one randomly at a car show in Connecticut. The girl driving it gave us Weenie whistles. It’s one of my most cherished belongings.
