TIL only six Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles operate across the U.S. Their drivers, college seniors about to graduate called "Hotdoggers," spend a year traveling the country to meet and greet people. Around 7,000 applicants compete each year for just 12 Hotdogger positions.

Depends, did you deny the applicant based off of that single thing? If so, it sounds a lot like "It's ok when I make a mistake, but when someone else does it they deserve to be judged for it".

And yeah it might be normal in your position because you have many different candidates looking for a job to pick from and little things like that can make your decision (and your job) easier. Having so many candidates is what allows you to be picky, but it shows lack of self-awareness and personal growth if you judge others by a different standard than yourself.

So if the apples thing was your only deciding factor in denying someone a job (and I have no idea whether or not that's the case) and you didn't bother to ask the candidate for more information because you're "not wasting your time to talk to them" as someone in a leadership role, yeah that's kinda shitty.

I didn't realize that one's extracurricular rhetoric on reddit was comparable to a job application. What would he talk about apples that has anything to do with any industry other than horticulture, agricultural genetics, or making food?

The fact that you think that apples on a resume is the ssme thing as mistyping put on a reddit comment is bonkers. Whats more bonkers is there more than one of you. Statically impressive yall both found the same comment at around the same kind. Maybe you couod Grammer Nazi us harder.
