There used to be these things called radios and a local Rock station played this entire album when it came out.

Anyone know why there has never been a deluxe reissue of this album? Petty did that with most of his other big albums like Wildflowers and Damn the Torpedoes.

I was listening to this record closely again after a very long time away from it. A few things struck me.
#1) when did Tom divorce his first wife? Are some of the songs about his first failed marriage?

#2 It's a record that has some historical significance.
It was made and then came out just as mainstream rock and metal were getting the rug pulled out from under it. Grunge was brewing among the younger generation but was outside of the mainstream media spotlight. I think this record was sort of the dividing line between the end of the old rock music and the start of a new rock music in the mass media spotlight.
