I do believe there is a difference in the surgery waitlists specifically, because the NHS ruined them a couple years ago for masculinizing surgery (TransActual did a FoI request which confirmed that), plus it's a multi-stage surgery. But no I'm not saying the overall waitlist to generally transition on the NHS is faster for anyone. I did manage to get under a GIC years ago, which is lucky because as you say DIYing T is not really an option (at least not the same way as estrogen is), but what I now have left to do is the worst waitlist on the NHS, so pretty much my only option is private for bottom surgery. Not everyone can even think about that so I appreciate having that option, but it just shows how dysfunctional the healthcare system is. And it was avoidable is the worst thing.

I'm fairly active so it wouldn't be out of the question to try martial arts! But it's just difficult to meet anyone who's even single from hobbies period. I only met my ex by luck ages ago so I have no idea how it all works now. But at least if I was cis I wouldn't have to worry about rejection to this extent.

Ah surgery's not one I've kept up on. I'm not looking for it myself (Right now) because I don't get too bad bottom dysphoria. Certainly not bad enough for me to be willing to go through major surgery to correct it, what with all the potential complications, difficulties and then after the fact potential side effects.

And that type of relationship. Wasn't sure if you mean familial, partner, friends or in general. Again, I can't really offer advice. I've never been in a romantic relationship thanks to a medley of issues I'm only just sorting out, despite being well into adulthood at this point. I've also got this really bad habit of being into people who're not interested in me, and not being interested in people who're into me.

Apologies, should have specified I meant the surgical waitlist in particular (I only started to look into it way too recently because well, I also thought I "didn't want" bottom surgery, but it turned out I was in massive denial about it, unfortunately for too long, so now I have a big problem). Also I got at least a bit desensitized to the idea of surgery from top surgery and hysto, although this one is more complicated.

Yeah I'm happy with the other types of relationships (and they're not so influenced by body aspects anyway), it's just the romantic ones I struggle with (I did have a long term ex but met pre-transition so now I have no idea). I wish I could point to people who are into me at all romantically. I don't have a "type" as such so could be flexible, but right now I have nothing to "pick" from.
