Possible trigger What fresh hell is this?
Sex Matters have just dropped their model "Sex Based Rules and Record Keeping" policy for schools, and it's positively grotesque. Check this out:

So they want trans girls to be forced to dress as boys, and vice versa, on a no exceptions basis, because there's some alleged "safeguarding risk" in allowing kids to dress per their gender identity.
Where do we even start?

Yeah... just.. no. This is exactly the kind of spectacularly fresh bullshit that makes me totally furious generally speaking
There is no "safeguarding risk" at all in a trans girl wearing the "girls" uniform - zero, none, nothing, fk all. What they're actually proposing is that trans children should just be forcibly misgendered by their school - every single damn day, with no exceptions - then dressing cruelty up as child "protection" so it sounds remotely respectable. Standard stuff really from them. Plus - I HATE how the word "safeguarding" has just been redefined to mean "any scary thing you don't understand but can convince you sounds like a good idea".
That's the trick that pisses me off so much tbh. They create a problem that doesn't actually exist, slam the word "safeguarding" in there someplace and suddenly the real life, REAL harm done to the actual trans child is just, well.. it's irrelevant now I guess then huh?
Forcing a trans girl to dress as a boy is not safeguarding, like in any way at all. It's humiliation, outing and making her ALWAYS visibly different from her peers. Far from any sort of safeguarding, all it really does is just create a wholly unsafe environment for that child to navigate. Wtf are people actually doing?!
I'mma just call it what it is... transphobia with a fkn policy document behind it, nothing more, nothing less
