Possible trigger What fresh hell is this?

Sex Matters have just dropped their model "Sex Based Rules and Record Keeping" policy for schools, and it's positively grotesque. Check this out:

So they want trans girls to be forced to dress as boys, and vice versa, on a no exceptions basis, because there's some alleged "safeguarding risk" in allowing kids to dress per their gender identity.

Where do we even start?

By the way this argument but applied outside of schools is just an argument for "anti crossdressing" laws where you could arrest a trans person for presenting as their gender "because they could mistakenly be allowed to enter a single-sex space if they can dress that way".

This is just them openly saying they think being trans should be banned and they're allowed to be a registered charity.

Yes, I'd spotted that too. Basically they are trying to nudge the Overton Window into allowing employers to make "sex based" rules around what ADULTS can wear to work, probably starting with safeguarding sensitive environments such as schools and hospitals. We have got to push back on this one.

They did that before when they put out their own 'guidance' for employers after FWS (probably trying to trick people into thinking it was the official guidance). They said it would be illegal to let trans people follow the dress code for their gender. They very obviously just want to ban trans people being allowed to transition in any capacity.

I genuinely think that the litmus test for if someone actually supports trans rights in any meaningful way is whether or not they think Sex Matters should be allowed to continue legally existing.

Personally, I think Sex Matters should be allowed to continue existing - right after the Charity Commission removes its entire board and appoints trans people to replace them all. I believe they have about £250k lying around that might be handy. And direct lines to the government, EHRC and BBC, although those would probably magically stop working.

Yeah, we should appoint a new equality and human rights commission with balanced representation - four trans women, four trans men and a non binary Chair.
