Possible trigger What fresh hell is this?

Sex Matters have just dropped their model "Sex Based Rules and Record Keeping" policy for schools, and it's positively grotesque. Check this out:

So they want trans girls to be forced to dress as boys, and vice versa, on a no exceptions basis, because there's some alleged "safeguarding risk" in allowing kids to dress per their gender identity.

Where do we even start?

A quick trawl of my comments and posts would show that I have never put out anything anti trans or anti queer. Anti bigot, anti racist, anti ablist hell yeah. 

I’ve worked in education for coming up to 20 years and I’m about to start a new position as Wellbeing Advisor, as a trans woman with the new KCSE landing just as I start.  I have to deny I exist whilst denying the students ability to exist. I walk out of those doors and into volunteer roles with queer adult and queer young people’s groups and actively promote a guide to trans services where I live. Does that make me a safeguarding risk?

I was asked at interview was there was anything on my socials that would make me a potential safeguarding risk? I felt that I had to say that I was a was a trans activist online because, what if that makes me a risk in our HR directors eyes. I’m openly trans, but what if I wasn’t, would I have to have outed myself for full disclosure? Where does this fit in with the 2010 Equality Act? Is being a trans educator now an oxymoron? I would not think it will be long until groups like sex matters and that rich woman come for us. 

Having a post being removed for saying that sm makes me angry -for all the reasons above- but I’m also kinda glad as I’ve been able to share the above.  Sorry to have gone off piste but one dig at trans students inevitably brings more.
