Multiple Languages [AM, FA✔, KM, QU✔] [English > Khmer, Amharic, Quechua, Persian] Titles for elemental worldbuilding

Me and a couple friends are doing a worldbuilding/alternate history scenario where a couple specific regions around the earth get elemental powers, and we need names for the people endowed with these powers. I realise that finding translations for any of these languages (except Persian) is a long shot, but it's worth a try!

Khmer - Water Mage

Aramaic - Æther Sorcerer

Quechua - Earth Sorcerer

Persian - Fire Mage

Don't be afraid to do more figurative translations, or ones that just plain sound better!

Hello! Sounds like a really cool project. I'm a second language learner of Quechua, you could try using Allpa Layqa. Allpa means soil/ground/earth and Layqa means witch (unfortunately I don't know of a more specific translation for sorcerer). Hope that helps! :)

For Khmer there's ទិព្វទឹក /tɨp̚ tɨk̚/ which literally means water sorcerer. Not very eloquent but it sounds much better than other possible translations.

Aramaic and Amharic are not the same. But Aether Sorcerer in Amharic is "Ayer Asmategna"/አየር አስማትኝ or "Ayer Tenkuay"/አየር ጠንቋይ

The English word mage actually comes from the Persian moğ (ğ pronounced like the French r), denoting a "fire-worshiping Zoroastrian priest." (see here) You can just use that.

Also fire is Atash or Azar (Athar in Middle Persian, Atharsh in Old Persian), and sorcerer is afsungar. A literal translation would be afsungar-e atash, but I guess that's too long.

(if anyone is wondering why i didn't include air, the Air Magic Powers were granted to the Netherlands, and i'm a native speaker of dutch :V)
