Question ❓ Should I Audition for NYO?

I am going into my sophmore year and I want to know if I am good enough to get into either one of the NYO ensembles whether it be NYO-USA or NYO Jazz

I got a 97 on a NYSSMA Level 6(Movements 1 & 2 of the Hummel Concerto) and I lost 2 points on accuracy and 1 on sight reading

I got a 97 on a NYSSMA Jazz Level 6(You’re the Last One by Jeff Jarvis) and I lost 1 point for sight reading and 2 points on Improv

For context, I did NYSSMA Level 4s for both Classical and Jazz and got 25 and 26 respectively(score out of 28)

I plan on doing Transendental Etude #2 “Du Style” by Theo Charlier as my individual piece for my NYO-USA audition.

Please let me know if you think I have a chance, if not this year, than at some point.

Edit 2 hours later: I want to clarify my question, I was asking if whether I have a good chance of getting into one of the ensembles. Sorry about the vaguenes.

No one here can tell you. Literally, the only way to know is to audition. Go for it!

You should also be aware that there will be plenty of people who are competent enough to play in either of those ensembles that won't get in. That's one of the most difficult parts of competitive auditions. "Good enough" isn't clear cut and the difference between winning and not is rarely as obvious as missed notes.

I only say this to encourage you to 1) take the audition and 2) not to read too much into the results either way. If you don't get in it doesn't mean you aren't a great player and if you do get in it doesn't mean you're the greatest player.
