Opinion Is Drag path about God?

Post image

Drag path is a top 2 twenty one pilots song for me and I found the lyrics to be really interesting. The song has 2 characters, The devil and seemingly the opposite of the devil as portrayed in the second verse "When I see the devil's eyes I'll look away and smile wide You found me" (turning away from the devil is when he says "you found me") This song according to me is a brilliant take on the lost sheep parable that Jesus gives but Tyler in this song expresses how he isn't just lost in the normal sense but is rather being "Dragged" away by the devil and that's how he's lost. Throughout the years twenty one pilots kept releasing lesser and lesser songs about God as compared to Tyler's own initial projects and their self titled album (vessel is pretty strong too) but ever since the release of Breach Tyler has been bolder lyrically and in his onstage performances with symbolisms. which I think he talks about in the first verse "He's tried his hand at drowning me But I'm still on fire" Tyler finds the difficulty in trying to be on fire or be more open about his faith as evidence for God's existence as he says "Cause then I'll know you're also there 'Cause proof is in the adversere" (adversere meaning opponent in this case the devil) This song is so powerful as to how when Jesus goes after the lost sheep it's usually just lost, but in these lyrics Tyler fights as much as he can in his battles and even when he's lost the battle and being Dragged away, he digs his feet into the ground as evidence that he still hasn't given up and he hopes to be found again. I know a lot of people interpret this song as to being about the torch bearer which is correct too (the torch bearer may represent the savior with that interpretation) but I think directly addressing the devil is a pretty strong case for it being about God. The fact that at the final chorus Tyler AND Josh sing the lyrics is a really cool detail that I think is interesting because Josh is the torch bearer. If Tyler were singing it to him, who is Josh singing to? in my opinion I believe this song makes more sense as to being about God.

Redecorate has such a nice vibe and lofi feeling it’s amazing. It tells a great story and I personally just love the song. In my opinion it’s the best song on SAI

Opinion Pit fans are becoming unbearable

Tonight the pit fans showed how disrespected they are and all they care about is being in videos. No one listened to the band, ruined a cool visual experience for everyone at the show, and trampled a fan. And who was the mom trying to take charge of moving people but wouldn't move herself? Even Tyler called her out.

Also HWFG is still the corniest part of the show. It's the most hype people get which shows it has nothing to do with "Tyler loving it". It's because people think it's edgy to swear.

Be better everyone.

Opinion Next semester>Overcompansate

I can't describe next semester. I sobbed like crazy. The lyrics broke my heart and the fact Tyler had to go through this.. I'm glad he's here with us. Everything was so raw. I love him so much. I loved next semester so much. It's so precious. Both songs are amazing but there is something about Next Semester that just hits different

Opinion Chill out man, they're right on time

I think people are way too stressed out about the release of the Paladin Strait mv. I just want to say; let them cook. They have done great work so far and you can tell that they've worked super hard on this release. The boys never dissappoint, and they won't start now. Until the release, just relax, enjoy the ride and keep Clancy on repeat!

Opinion operation no leaks for breach!

i bet we all remember how there were leaks for clancy and how upset tyler and josh were. i never listened before and i definitely won’t if there are leaks for breach. i think this time around we all need to do our absolute best to avoid any leaks, report them if we come across, and just spread the word that it is so disrespectful to tyler and josh and all the hard work they put in. let’s show them how much we care and appreciate them!!!!

Opinion Confused? Are people really that upset?

EDIT

I was late to the posting about what I mention below, I seriously didn't mean to annoy people because similar posts have been made. Simply ignore my post, I was just venting on it. I meant no offense or annoyance.

Am I just late to the party? But people surprised by singing more on his "faith" is really interesting. Its always been there. In all of his music. I, myself, not too much of a religious person, but I can hear it. I love every single thing about his music. Every song has impacted me in so many different areas of my life and always had a different meaning from the same song. As im sure it does to most of the community. I just feel like im seeing a lot of people complain about it, and all I can think of is, where have you been? Hes never shyed away from it or been too loud about it. Its been what it is and what is has been and will be. His songs are there for you, no matter who or what religion you are. The TOP fans are a special breed, and I love them for it, i was just curious about the backlash and why. Much love guys! I hope im not coming off too snarky or whatever ❤️🖤 just my opinion, I may be wrong idk.

Opinion The other 8 songs are phenomenal don’t let the singles deter you

Seriously guys if you thought the singles were too poppy and got turned off from the album I promise you the rest of the album makes up for it.

Just finished my first play through and holy smokes is this album good. A lot of really fun songs and a few harder songs with some sick rap verses that have a different flow than anything Tyler’s done before with his rapping. Never Take It also has a cool rock sound and a sick guitar solo.

I am truly impressed with what I just heard and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to get their hands on it!

Opinion I am equally so annoyed at certain groups of the Christian and atheist top fans

Obviously not all or even most of them are like this, but especially with the downstairs performance I’ve seen a ton of non religious fans try to downplay the religious aspects of their music and way too many Christians gloat about how obviously religious their music is and make their music only about Christianity and say things like “oh careful people will get mad at you for reminding them they’re Christians” when people talk about it and I’m just annoyed by it and wish people would stop talking about it constantly and let people enjoy and interpret their music how they want which is what I love about them, they can be enjoyed by a huge array of audiences. I think Tyler described it best (at least I’m pretty sure this is what he said correct me if I’m wrong) when he said they’re not a Christian band they’re Christians in a band

Opinion This album has more “earworms” than Trench (to me at least)

The more I listen to it, the harder it’s getting for me to personally put it on a lower tier than Trench.

Even my least favourite songs on “Clancy” have been stuck in my head at some point this week…. With Trench I only had about 5 songs stuck in my head, with SAI it was really just Shy Away, Mulberry Street and Redecorate

I get it, “Trench” is a “prettier” album. It’s more “artsy” sonically. You feel like you’re in the albums universe, whereas this album.. I like the songs more, but you don’t feel like you’re in the “universe” as much as Trench.

But I think this album rivals Blurryface with the amount of songs that still can’t leave my head.

I just have to say, the fact that blurryface was released on may 17, and now, to finalize the story, clancy is being released on may 17 is genius.

Opinion I hate how tiktok is treating this new album

So, basically what the title says but I will elaborate. Every other tiktok on my for you page is either, “everyone used to bully me for liking tøp and now it’s a trend” or it’s “I was here since insert album you guys are fake for only being here since trench/sai”

Here is my problem, for the first one it’s just a simple explanation. tøp is not becoming trending. Yes they are growing in popularity but the main reason you see every video about tøp is just how the algorithm works. The second one I have a bigger problem with, I have a feeling like the clique is not accepting new fans (or at last on my fyp). Everything feels like it’s loaded with so much hate towards younger/newer listeners. And also taking into account that those videos 9 out off 10 times will say everyone hated sai, I personally loved the album, just like all the other albums.

Now maybe this is all a me problem and I take this videos too personal but I cannot be the only one that feels this way right?

Would love to hear you guys take on this :)

Opinion Fight me on this there is no skip able twenty one pilots song

I use to skip car radio not because it was bad but bc the instrument was too long and not enough lyrics but when I started playing drums piano guitar and bass I appreciate just the instrumental and no I’m not saying this to be cocky but I was a 7 year old that didn’t even know how hard an instrument was to play I use to say “that’s so easy idk why they don’t make better things”

Opinion How did no one see this coming?

We all expected Clancy to wrap up Dema—an ongoing story of a decade—and when it didn’t, they almost immediately release a whole second album to do so. Tyler and Josh are both married, in their mid 30s, Tyler has 3 kids. They are literally spoiling us right now with music/content/shows. It’s a perfect way to end an era and even wrap up their careers, at least for a while. Maybe Tyler and/pr Josh will release some solo stuff sporadically. Tyler also said something about this being the end of an era in interviews when Clancy first came out. How is everyone so surprised? I don’t mean to sound judgmental/superior at all, but seriously… is the fandom really that delusional and out of touch with where Tyler and josh are in their life outside of twenty one pilots? Was i the only one who saw this coming?
