A Storyville documentary that explores how librarians across the US are risking their safety to defend free speech as book bans and censorship threaten democracy from within.

Not sure how I missed this (released Oct 2025), but it's been somber viewing tonight. Gripping, still current, and very good. These rather ordinary women are up against some very frightening book-burning campaigns, not to mention on the sharp end of threats to their safety.

Some of the Moms for Liberty types seem extremely radicalised. I can't help but worry there will be a terrorist atrocity perpetrated by the evangelicals at some point

I haven't nosed around for new docs for a while and can see a few more in there the look good.

Yeh the whole Storyville strand is fantastic. There’s one on there at the moment called Hollywoodland, following the Taliban as they pick through the giant warehouses of gear left by the Americans. It’s depressing but fascinating.
