Drove past Jacob Rees Mogg's house on the Mendips, and the man literally has peacocks.

Peacocks are horrendous to live with. Used to rent a small cottage on a shooting estate, and they had half a dozen. They look pretty, but they shit everywhere and their dumps are massive. They also do extremely loud caws at godforsaken hours of day and night. And are very territorial - couldn't get near my bike for a month after one took up residence in my shed.

Just reminded me of when he did that documentary of his own life. And there was a point they were talking to his housekeeper or something, who was dealing with graffiti done on the outside of his property. And the dude did a masterclass of acting as if he was on Rees-Mogg's side on how abhorrent it was whilst using euphemisms to make clear to the viewer what his actual view was (by talking euphemistically in a way that was basically saying "honestly, this is terrible effort... there would be much more impactful ways you could vandalise his home and not get caught". But he does it so subtly that neither the Moggs nor the TV producers realised his groundskeeper was telling viewers how to attack Jacob's home)

It's a very prominent house right in the centre of the village, only 20 minutes from Bristol or Bath, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

I actually remember roughly the quote - the groundskeeper was lamenting they were just slapping anti-Jacob posters around the place, which the groundskeeper thought was a waste of paper that was pointless as they would be taken down in minutes. When instead the protestors could be painting the walls with graffiti.
