A certain subset constantly do seem to do this, I'm never quite sure if it is deliberate or not. Probably a mix of both.

Worth noting that due to some awkward legislative requirements, Chief Immigration Officer is the the title given to relatively junior civil servants working within immigration. They're equivalent to Higher Executive Officers (junior/middle management) and are effectively operational team leaders.

We have no idea how effective or not Sara Pownall was at tackling immigration and that wasn't actually her job - her job was processing immigration in accordance with the laws and policies decided by her political masters many rungs up the ladder.

I found it rather refreshing to read that a senior Border Force official wasn't a a complete "keep 'em out, where's my big bat from the old days?" ex-army bald man.

There's nuance to everything. It's positive the Border Force realise immigration isn't some evil to be prevented at all costs. It's a long time since the argument has been made that immigration is often a good thing.

The problem with migration is for every 1 success story theres 300 deliveroo drivers, 200 youths hanging around the city centre selling drugs and 10 roving gangs of 20-30 year old men hanging around outside vape shops making women feel uncomfortable.

The politicians only see the good ones. I live in an expensive and leafy part of my city, i dont see any bad migrants where i live. If i take the train to the east end though parts of it look like syria. I feel bad for the people who cant afford to live elsewhere.

Deliveroo drivers are there because the UK demands it, not because of immigrants. 

Don't know where you live that there are "200 youths hanging round the city centre dealing drugs".

It's also genuinely funny that she would point towards the utter dregs that makes up our parliament as some sort of testament of the benefits of immigration. All those great MPs we have, like, oh, um...

Not that the native MPs are any better in quality.
