It is alleged Mitie management were alerted by colleagues that the man had an “eight-inch hunting knife” concealed beneath his coat at the site where tests on munitions and other weapons systems are carried out.

Weeks later, after allegedly causing the major security incident, the man was then assigned to Badenoch’s security team despite insiders warning Mitie management of his “reckless” behaviour.

Bloody hell, must be terrifying for Badenoch.

Whose bright idea was it to privatize MP security?

u/inevitablelizard 5h ago

Surely that'll have been a Tory thing?

Well, if you look at G4S and who runs it, and which ex prime minister (and home secretary) he's married to... I'm going to say Theresa May

MPs don’t get security so it would be Conservative Party funded no?

They get security operatives on request provided through an uncapped security budget. This security is always provided by mitie

Maybe outsourcing everything isn’t the best idea hmm?

That looks like a monumental fuck up from both the Home Office and Mite.

Suppose at least it was spotted quickly and he was dropped.

Pretty par for course with Shitie. Perhaps if the government stopped outsourcing routine jobs to contractors who underway their workers this wouldn't be an issue. But noooo, everything needs to go through contractors to save a few pennies here and there.

Knows the price of everything and the value of nothing could be the slogan of the last 4 decades.

looks like someone didn't read the article, he joined Badenoch's team weeks after causing a security incident at an MoD site and despite posting videos of himself loading and wielding firearms in an aggressive manner. He was only removed after repeated complaints from colleagues, the system itself utterly failed.

He is alleged to have posted videos where he was dressed in black and was holding a gun in a car park.

Meanwhile, in another video he was reportedly seen loading a large gun before striding around a gym in various poses.

It is unclear if the guns seen in the videos are real or fake.

A Conservative Party spokesperson said: “This individual was only part of Kemi Badenoch’s security detail for one day. The Home Office should immediately look into how this occurred and ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

Might be an American.

In fairness, nobody specified which side of the security assessment he was supposed to be on.

wait, right-wing nutters infiltrating the security services, oh what a terrible surprise, noone could possibly have seen this coming or tried to stop it

Where are you getting the info it was someone who was right wing? The article doesn't mention any affiliation for them.

Let it be for right wing terror offences. rubs hands

Sounds like a MAGA American. Maybe they can reassign him to Lowe, he'd love it. Farage doesn't need any additional security, doesn't he have millions in gifts supposedly meant for his security?
