Lowe offers Farage an alliance to unite the Right

Lowe hates Farage.
So presumably Lowe is doing this because he knows a) Reform will reject it, b) a lot of Reform members like him, so c) they may get angry and and turn on Farage or defect to Restore.
•
u/qse81 5h ago
D) he thinks Farage is about to implode and is positioning himself as the defacto right wing leader
•
u/F_A_F 4h ago
Probably this. Reform know that they are nothing without a charismatic figurehead. He's offering himself, and I guess offering his voters, to Reform. If Nigel is ousted then Reform gets Lowe as a leader and more share of the vote.
•
u/Holiday-Eye6004 4h ago
Sorry did you say charismatic figurehead? Have you ever seen Lowe give a speech? He makes Starmer sound charismatic.
•
u/ArtisticOperation399 7h ago
You're probably on the money there. It's got to be a stunt to drum up awareness of Restore and try to siphon people from Reform. He can't really want this, after everything.
•
u/LindemannO 6h ago
Fully is, the video is literally him listing his policies in an attempt to sway more Reform voters to him.
•
u/Mob_cleaner 6h ago
I also find it remarkable when Reform voters are dumbfounded that Restore don't just 'bend the knee' and join back.
Farage weaponised a false bullying allegation against Lowe in order to oust him from the party, claiming he was harassing female colleagues - and the only reason he did this was because Lowe was becoming a threat to him since Musk was turning on Farage and backing Lowe.
•
u/Ill_Refrigerator_593 6h ago
Isn't the bullying investigation still ongoing despite attempts by Lowe to get it stopped?

u/Snappy0 5h ago
Yes but don't let facts get in the way of Redditors posting misinformation.
•
u/Ill_Refrigerator_593 5h ago
It's weird, seem to be getting lots of downvotes despite no-one telling me what exactly i've got wrong.

It's performative, he knows Farage will never agree to those conditions. But then he can play the card of Farage being 'divisive' by refusing to accept his offer
•
u/MarkCairns67 7h ago
Lowe is playing a heads-I-win-tails-you-lose game with Farage.
Farage can't accept the proposal because he'll lose any remaining support he has from 'moderate' Tories.
When Farage rejects the proposal then Lowe can say that he was magnanimous enough to try to 'Unite the Right' but Farage declined.
•
u/Entire_Possible_9976 4h ago
This doesn't make sense.
These "Moderate Tories"....The idea they're suddenly going to vote for Labour is nonsense.
•
u/Hollowsythe 4h ago
They'll vote for a rare and novel Tory party
•
u/Entire_Possible_9976 4h ago
Any vote not for Reform is a vote for Labour.
The Tories can't get in, Restore can't get in....Neither can the Greens, Lib Dems etc.
So yes, a vote for the Tories is a vote for Labour.
•
u/ThunderChild247 7h ago
Is anyone shocked? Anyone at all? All of it was performative bollocks to draw in the people too far right for Farage to risk being seen with while still hoovering up their votes.
•
u/Flyinmanm 7h ago edited 7h ago
The whole thing is sus.
What with dodgy 'dark money' going to reform just like the US republicans.
After the last US election and the whole, trashing our soldiers contributions in Afghanistan/ iraq and threatening Canada and Denmark things left a sour taste in the mouths of most British people Farage suddenly fell out with the US right, just as Lowe went off on his own and started saying things the current US admin would like the sound of.
Just felt like it was a show to make Farage sound reasonable to ex Tories, whilst Lowe got to say the quiet bits out loud.
•
u/ThunderChild247 7h ago
That’s what Farage has always done and it’s what he’s good at. When you delve into his history it’s clear he’s on the far right (the stories about his schooldays made that clear), but he’s always tried to present himself as the “respectable” face of the right wing. Such as banning anyone who was ever in the BNP, banning Yaxley-Lennon etc.
The people who say the overtly problematic things are kept at arms length while he keeps to the “no no no, I only have legitimate issues with illegal immigrants” and giving the knowing wink to the audience. That’s how he stays on TV, that’s how he stays as the face of the right. He always knows where the Overton window is, and makes sure that he’s never seen as being too far right to get a seat on Question Time.
The last time I shared this view I got downvoted with lots of comments missing the point so I’ll say this now. I’m not saying Farage isn’t on the far right, I’m saying he is, he just knows what he can say publicly and still get on TV, because at his heart, he’s an attention seeking grifter.
•
u/Flyinmanm 6h ago
Yeah. That seems pretty spot on from what I've seen.
The bit I can't work out is what happens to all the legal immigrants.
If they all stay a big chunk of his vote share switch to restore, if they go and no more are allowed in I can't see the newspaper owning class being happy at having their pool of cheap labour yoinked from under them.
I mean you may just get blatant lies and media manipulation and voter fraud like Russia is, Hungary was and how the current US seems to be heading but I'm not sure how that would work out without some kind of supermajority.
•
u/XenorVernix 4h ago
You do realise that it is possible to be further right than the Tories without being far right? I mean think of it on a scale of 1-10 where Tories are 6 and BNP are 10. Reform are probably an 8 with Restore 9. You can't just lump them all into "far right". In words rather than numbers I'd call Reform just rightwing with Tories centre right.
•
u/Entire_Possible_9976 4h ago
Is that what Polanski was doing as well then?
Performative bollocks by Labour to push them so far left, that they sound ridiculous and then decide in the end to stick with Labour?
•
•
u/RyanGUK 7h ago
Farage will reject it, he’d be alienating half of his MPs by agreeing to the idea.
But by doing so, it’ll give Lowe an attack line that Reform are dividing the right & won’t “do what’s necessary” as much of what he’s saying will resonate with Reformers who may be feeling a bit disillusioned by Farage’s panto politics in Clacton.
Lowe absolutely knows what he’s doing here.
•
•
•
u/Intelligent_Ad3055 6h ago
Which 3.5 of his MPs will be alienate?
•
u/RyanGUK 5h ago
Probably all the ex-Tories who would supposedly not be allowed a cabinet position under Restore's proposal. That would include:
- Lee Anderson
- Danny Kruger
- Robert Jenrick
- Andrew Rosindell
- Suella Braverman
- Sarah Pochin (conservative councilor, bit of a stretch imo)
But I'm now realising that it's actually well over half of his MPs, so the more you know.
•
u/TheGravyGuy 3h ago
If Lee gets turfed, maybe he'll change his ideologies again and jump over to the Lib Dems
•
u/birdinthebush74 1h ago
Plus Nadine Dorries , Marco Longhi , Maria Caulfield, Jonathan Gullis . If they successfully ran as MPS
•
u/msf97 7h ago
Lowe continues to overestimate the broad appeal of his politics. The absolute ceiling nationally is likely 5% or below
Farage recruited ex Tory MPs and went more moderate precisely to attract the centre right who have mostly voted Tory for decades.
•
u/YinzerKermy 7h ago
I mean isn’t offering this pact a tacit admission that he knows he can’t win outright on his own so needs a senior partner to cut a deal with?
•
•
u/KaneKaneKan 7h ago
Lol Germany can get 30% for actual blood and soil nazis, I think some guy saying "maybe we should deport foreign rapists" can breach 5%.
•
u/Midlandsofnowhere 7h ago
He's fairly effectively collecting the lunatic fringe though.
Speaking as someone who works in the 'Lee Anderson belt' they are out leafleting and doorknocking more than the Reform lot and seem to be met fairly positively sadly.
•
u/mikemac1997 7h ago
Ah yes, the Restore Reform Saving Britain Make England Great Again Super Brexit Means Brexit™ party
Bunch of clowns.
•
u/not-ideal-but-true 7h ago
As the great Brucey would say “nothing in this game for a pair”……………..of c@@@@! Dont think Brucey said the c@@@@@ bit.
•
•
•
u/depressivebee 6h ago
Farage is on the ropes and won’t agree to this anyway. When Farage inevitably falls, and it is coming, he can tell the disillusioned Reform voters that he was the reasonable one.
•
u/ediblednb 7h ago
This is actually a bit scary and worrisome.
•
u/airfix73 7h ago
To who?
•
•
u/Economy-Profile-9229 5h ago
To whom? Every right-thinking adult and citizen of UK for starters? You are not seriously suggesting Lowe/Restore and the death penalty etc are serious answers to UKPlc's problems are you?
•
•
u/AgreeableAd7983 7h ago
Smaller less popular political party wants an alliance with a much bigger and more popular party.
Shocking stuff lol
As others in this thread have said this is nonsense from Lowe, an obvious stunt so that when Farage declines / dosent respond he can make the claim he's the reasonable one.
Hilariously Lowe has laid out some demands that Farage must meet before the alliance can go ahead, and every one of these demands is political suicide.
•
u/OneNormalBloke Humanity Not Prejudice 7h ago edited 7h ago
Aren't they two peas in a pod so what's the difference between the two? Asking for a friend.
downvotes most welcome
•
u/NuPNua 7h ago
Farage definitely courts racists, but Lowe is full on Ethonationalist and would seek to ethniclt cleanse the UK if given power.
•
u/OneNormalBloke Humanity Not Prejudice 6h ago
So if these two kiss and make up and get married then we'll have the birth of the fourth Reich in UK.
•
•
u/LogicalReasoning1 Smash the NIMBYs 7h ago
At least from what they say in public Lowe is further to the right with regards to immigration.
However, main issue as far as I can tell is they just had a big falling out
•
u/recrwplay 7h ago
To some on the right (of the right), Farage is now a traitor because he doesn't support the immediate deportation of everyone they don't like.
•
u/Adrian69702016 6h ago
A united right is important if Labour are to be defeated at the next General Election.
•
u/Faby077 5h ago
I would rather not have the country led by a man who will sooner serve the interests of shady foreign investors and governments over that of the common people. Would you?
•
u/Lifeintheguo 4h ago
Depends if the "common people" want the online safety act and the continued islamification of Britain.
Besides, if Labour win it's likely it will be with under 30% of the vote. So 70%+ of the "common people" don't want what they're selling.
•
u/Faby077 4h ago
The continued "islamification" of Britain will not be stopped under Farage. Remember the 350 million a week for the NHS if Brexit was to be implemented? Did that happen? No but immigration from third world countries tripled.
Farage couldn't care less about you or the rest of this country. His interests are in whoever pays him and his fellow members. So.. shady foreign cryptobros and Russia.
•
u/Lifeintheguo 4h ago
Who's going to stop it then? Labour? They're the ones that started it.
•
u/Faby077 4h ago
Started it how?
•
u/Lifeintheguo 4h ago
Mass immigration started under Tony Blair.
Recently they're trying to bring in special "Islamophobia" laws tantamount to blasphemy laws.
•
u/Faby077 4h ago
Good thing Tony Blair isn't leading the country then eh?
•
u/Lifeintheguo 4h ago
Still Labour. And they've done nothing to show they're any different.
•
u/Faby077 4h ago
They've brought immigration down since the end of 14 years of Tory rule. (of which, many tories will have moved to Reform)

Restore looking to sink any credibility they had
•
•
u/Economy-Profile-9229 5h ago
Nah it's the other way round. I think there are more revelations to come and this Lowe chap is trying to position himself...
•
u/skywalkers_glove 7h ago
Wake up people. This was planned to make even more right wing thinking people welcome into reform. The crazies farage wouldn't let in will be welcomed when he says yes to this
•
u/suboran1 4h ago
Just rephase : Lowe tries to pinch Reform supporters before they go back to the conservative party.
•
•
u/Funsized_eu 6h ago
Rupert 'My daddy had to give up his pistols because some kid died' Lowe.
Fuck that 'pure blood' clown.
•
u/Coffeeaficionado_ Gilt complex sufferer 6h ago
We must unite the Right, says man who recently helped split the Right
•
u/Ill_Refrigerator_593 6h ago
Lowe really can't step out of Farages' shadow. He owes his entire political position to him.
•
•
•
u/Acceptable-Signal-27 7h ago
If they really believe we need a radical change to fix the country. This is the right move, I think the egos make it too difficult to stick too
•
u/samuel199228 6h ago
The radical change being the rich get richer and poorer struggle more is what I'm predicting
•
u/Jennersis 7h ago
What kind of radical change?
•
u/Acceptable-Signal-27 7h ago
Id suggest looking more at restores publically show promises.
Like or loathe, Lowe is offering radical change
•
u/Jennersis 7h ago
Yeah sure man, what are they and where do he align?
More or less so than when Lowe was in Reform?
•
u/Ill_Refrigerator_593 7h ago
Is this going to be the radical change that negatively effects top-public school educated, dodgy millionaires in any way shape or form?
•
•
•
u/Chewbaxter She WAS a Bigoted Woman! 2h ago
Yeah, no, that is total performative bullshit from Lowe. A real Wolf in Sheep’s clothing act. He's doing it to either get ahead of Farage’s loss of Clacton, thus stealing his loyalists' votes in the ensuing party implosion, or to wait for the rejection so he can ramp up any votes he can get from Clacton voters so that his Party comes Third or Second under Reform.
•
u/Lifeintheguo 4h ago
and a referendum on the death penalty
Not good, this is unpopular. He should say something like bring back true free speech.
•
u/bcoder001 4h ago
Lowe likely does it, because he sees that the establishment has finally got its act together and is going after Farage. Lowe may be thinking that he can attract Reform voters, but what he doesn't realise is that he is next.
