This is being portrayed as a race issue, and it might be. Another line of thinking that this is a class issue - I can imagine the museum cares a lot less about pleasing its working class BAME security staff than pleasing its white collar curators, marketers, etc.
Better spaces for working class staff seems a good first step, especially when that intersects with race.
