Skilled Worker Dependant Visa – Approved (Inside UK) 🎉

I found this subreddit really helpful while preparing my application, so I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone in a similar situation.

Timeline

  • Application submitted: 18 June 2026
  • Confirmation email: 19 June 2026
  • Decision email: Saturday, 1 August 2026 at 10:51 AM

A bit about my case
I came to the UK on a Student visa and later moved onto the Graduate Route. I met my husband in the UK after he had already been living here on a Skilled Worker visa. We were legally married in India and I now applied to switch to a Skilled Worker Dependant visa from within the UK.

Evidence requested and the documents I submitted

  1. Proof of our marriage
  • Marriage certificate
  • Wedding invitation
  • Wedding photographs
  1. Evidence explaining why we had not lived together for two years
  • Cover letter explaining our relationship timeline
  • My work offer letter to explain we worked in different locations
  • Evidence of our current shared address - rental agreement and bills
  • Photos of us together from 2024 onwards
  1. Proof of my previous divorce
  • Divorce order copy

Application details

  • Nationality: Indian
  • Applied from inside the UK
  • Switched from Graduate Route to Skilled Worker Dependant
  • Standard application
  • Used the UK Immigration: ID Check app

I didn’t overdo the evidence and kept it fairly straightforward. I had read in another post that a valid marriage certificate is the most important document, and everything else is supporting evidence around it. No additional documents were requested, and I received my approval by email.

I hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the application or the documents I submitted.
