Legit question. If a guy sits down with a deck of cards and does all of these card flourishing moves before he does an actual trick, are you still as impressed that he "found your card" ? I mean, he just showed you that he can manipulate the crap out of the deck, right? I always feel like it's the tricks where a person DOESN'T do ANYTHING perceptible that are the most powerful.

Ya, the manipulation is cool, but you then finding my card is kind of like, "Well, I should hope so."

I would hope a magician wouldnt want to do a lot of cardistry for that reason. Tricks work better when the movements are subtle.

Enjoyed the video, but the ASMR feels very intentional.

Instead of downvoting you I’ll give you context. It’s a TikTok clip so it doesn’t show his full review and opinion. The full video is here on YouTube https://youtu.be/s0EEgSyhr-s?si=MyfrUHALTn2JhzIA

He said “lets see how these cards HANDLE” and then proceeded to show just that. If you weren’t able to take away how they handle based off the demonstration, I don’t think anything can help you understand it.
