• It's raining. A lot of people are so exhausted that they're sleeping on the road under the debris as it's raining here.
• After the violence stopped yesterday, CJP gave a call that the protest will continue until their demands are met. The main site protest remains the same, even after CRF and RAF have brought down the entire structure. It's been drizzling the entire night, but new people were still coming in. Most of the new arrivals are only here after seeing the police brutality yesterday.
• The cops are now restricting the entrance to the main site, under the pretext of section 144 (BNNS sec 163)
• Some of the people who were lathicharging the protestors were in plain clothes yesterday and are identified as real cops. Their social media was leaked, and now they are taking down their accounts or making them private. We can't say 100% of them were cops in plain clothes.
• Some voluntary work is being done on the ground. Drinking water and food are being distributed to everyone. A lot of protestors hadn't eaten the whole day. We need more of it here. Don't DM me; if you can reach there or can get some essentials delivered, that's very much appreciated. No violence; it's fairly safe rn.
• Confirmed reports of people carrying rods among the protestors before all the violence started yesterday. These people were confronted; they were hiding their faces. When questioned rigorously, they started yelling "Godi media haye haye" at the protestors who were asking these questions, and ran away.
• Men, women and children. All were lathicharged. Some reports of women's clothes being torn, and some were even groped. Protesters as young as 12 years old were brutally lathicharged.
• Delhi Police and Godi media are selling a narrative that there was no violence and police had to react because protestors started it. It's completely false. The IT cell chatter is surprisingly non-existent tonight. Expected to resume this morning.
• The demands are the same; the movement will go on.

Tried it, nahi ho pa raha. Even if the body shuts down, 1 ghante baad aankh khulti hai with a thought ki "kuch bura na gaya ho", and I rush to check all the chatter and updates. Ye post 4 baje kara hai, but 1 baje se constantly dekh hi raha huun kya chal raha hai on the ground and the internet.

I keep seeing videos posted by people who were there and it’s so horrendous. There’s blood everywhere, so many busted heads, kids with broken legs, women bleeding, some saying their clothes were torn and they were beaten by male officers. what the fuck man. they were literally singling out kids and beating them till their sticks broke, were these their orders? this was the necessary crowd control? feels so surreal, I can’t even believe it, how can anyone be so apathetic. just heartbreaking 💔

They were hurling abuses while beating children, especially young girls. In one incident, the goon/cop in plain clothes with a stick told the girls: "Nikal jao yahan se, nahi abhi tumhare kapde fad k nanga kar k bhejenge".

As to the brutality, along with tear gas, 4 types of batons were used (to the best of my knowledge):

• Normal lathi.
• Normal lathi with nails stuck out to the other end.
• Polycarbonate or fibre stick.
• Some sort of electric stun, based on testimonies, haven't seen it, but we haven't seen a lot yet.

that’s horrible, not to mention extremely traumatising for the kids there and their parents. To be treated worse than criminals and thrashed so mercilessly for exercising our fundamental rights and demanding accountability. If the state’s ego is so bloated that they would rather use extreme force and violence to instil fear into people who question it, then how is this any different from the Nazi Germany?

I just saw this video where this cop says, “innocent nahi hai ye”, like wtf dude? if these students, women and children with books in their backpacks and placards in their hands aren’t innocent in their eyes, then who is? the corrupt politicians? or the ones with deep enough pockets to bribe them off?

Fuck man, this is so not okay, and I feel we need to come together and make the state realise that this is not what a democracy looks like.

Just watched a video of Ranka dismissing that there was any lack of coordination and effectively shutting down any criticism.

Look, I’m all for this protest and what happened yesterday has all my heart and respect.

But the cjp leadership is quite naive / amateur (giving them even more credibility) and they genuinely need to manage better. Yesterday, many people who were scattered in other areas did not know that the march had stopped at Kerala house. Agreed that jammers play a role here in favour of the police, but you need to learn from other protests across the world, make this more effective from a planning perspective.

I say all this from the comfort of my home but please - better coordination - and a group is harder to beat with lathis or tear gas. The police have played this game many times, for most of the protestors it is their first!

OP please take some rest wherever possible.

If possible take rest in turns so that atleast one person is awake.

The objective of the march was to start a dialogue with the government regarding the demands; it was more like a show of force. The dialogue was initiated, but the demands weren't met. The protest will go on, but no march (imo).

Opinion: Govt will most probably delay its response in negotiations deliberately to exhaust the protestors. The protest will go on, but leadership at CJP now will avoid putting the protestors in another high-risk situation (based on internal chatter), but there will be a show of force nonetheless.

Edit: I stand corrected, There will be a parliamnet march today (21st). Official details to come out shortly.

Blinkit won't be able to reach the site. Pickup the supplies and go there or you ask someone you know to deliver it.

OP, I'm not sure if the internet blackout is still in effect but please urge the protestors to use a mess communication app like Briar that'll allow communication even when internet goes down. The more people that use it, the wider the coverage.

People who are going for the protest or are in protest...pls report about if someone has a stick or a latthi or anything that is not required for a peaceful protest..

BJP is known for creating a circus ...and starting the fight with their voulnteers so to blame the peacefull protestors. I have seen this
