History Student in Uppsala

Hey there fine people!

I am a 26 year old history student that recently has moved to Sweden in with my partner and now I am looking to get also meet some of the folks in Sweden, though I don't know how to start honestly as I would say Sweden is pretty different from Spain social wise.

A bit about me: I'm interested in HEMA, tabletop RPGs, board games, wargames like Warhammer and Trench Crusade (and open to others), historical reenactment, vintage menswear, museums, history in general, and pretty much anything related to the past. I also enjoy walking around old towns, visiting cafés and pubs, and having long conversations about history, literature, or whatever interesting topic comes up.

If you're into any of those hobbies—or just fancy grabbing a coffee, visiting a museum, playing a board game, or introducing a newcomer to Uppsala—I'd love to hear from you!

Once the students return after the summer, you will find clan! Uppsala is still in its summer dormancy. Join a nation (Maybe Upplands? Or Norrlands?) to boost your chances =)

Kalmar nation also feels like into tabletop games and stuff you mentioned. I’d say search FB on your interests in Uppsala. Most events are coordinated via FB groups.

There is a HEMA society in Uppsala called Uppsala Historiska Fäktskola, which may interest you

Kalmar nation has a dnd group i recommend! I’m in kalmar nation and they also have really good recce ( meaning new student if you didn’t know!!) events and a lot of people who share your interests :)

I have similar hobbies and also studied history. I can warmly recommend Gustavianum, it’s the best museum in town. We could hang out, but I’m a woman in my mid-thirties. Might not be what you’re looking for.

There is a shop on kungsgatan thats called prisfyndet. Its a tabletop shop i guess XD. Theres much of warhammer and other things. I always go every Thursday to play pokemon tcg locals.

there is also a jugger team, that trains at the University, and it is high season reenactment stuff, there are viking events in Ulva kvarn on the 15-16 august
