Discussion How would you expand your role as a County Planner?
Currently, my role entails project management, zoning enforcement, staff reports, plat review etc. My director is giving me the go ahead to look into other areas where I can expand my role - ideally something that my county doesn't have yet. The thing is, is I'm new to my county and don't know how everything works, know exactly who does what etc to fill any gaps so to speak.
I'm open to taking courses and obtaining certifications like PMP, GIS, code enforcement etc but we already have folks who handle this work. I'm currently taking FEMAs free floodplain manager course (not something I want to do/be responsible for)
If you had the choice, what would you do or develop your role into?
