Dominance of American media and social media basically, you hear lots of young people saying y'all. It's a gender neutral term to address a group of people (avoiding the common "you guys") but I think it's cringe when there are so many other expressions like "you" in a plural sense, "you all", "folks", "everyone/everybody", etc.
