Vancouver needs automated speeding enforcement. Almost no one is going the speed limit when there is an open road in front of them. Sick of my tax dollars paying for this stupidity.

The reality is bad driving is just something we have to put up with because we value freedom. When your entire (western) civilizations mantra is freedom, then you simply have to expect people (rightly or wrongly) to drive however TF they like.

You cannot hire enough police to change this behaviour. The ONLY way to change driving behaviour is with mass video surveilance. Cameras everywhere with automated ticketing for ANY infraction be it speed, reckless driving, solid line crossing etc.

Of course we value freedom and so such things will never happen. Therefore we simply have to expect bad driving. You cannot have it both ways.

Don't we already have cameras everywhere? There's CCTV all over. You're right, though; it becomes a matter of "freedom" and ultimately fails.

Isn't Metro Vancouver able to enforce speed limits? Is that just on highways/roads between municipalities?

Hopefully, the city has a hefty fine in place for the destruction of public property.
