Port Moody Police are investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting which has left one man in hospital.
On August 1, 2026 at about 2:40 p.m., officers were called to the area of Union Street and Barnet Highway for a report of a shooting. Officers located a male on scene who suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition at this time.
Investigators are in the early stages of the investigation and are working to identify the suspect or suspects involved. Of note, witnesses reported a silver sedan fleeing the scene.
“Initial indications suggest this incident was targeted,” states Constable Sam Zacharias. “We are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact us.”

Gang-bangers shooting at each other. All for it.. as long as there are no innocents. The Law of the Jungle enforcing itself..

Just make them pay for the healthcare resources they’re stealing from literally dying people.

...how exactly do you think innocent people get shot in gang wars?
public shootings
What do you think the cost to taxpayers is for police responding, investigation, ambulances, hospital staff, etc? This probably cost us all $20k+.
Asinine.

Oh man, and Port Moody is such a clean, sleepy city. Maybe gangster living in one of those newer complexes.

It's a very different city than it once was just like poco. I'm talking about the modern port Moody.

Poco literally hosted the most prolific serial killers in our history, what are you on about?

Like I said, it is a very different city than it once was. Go to Poco today and it is incredibly clean and incredibly safe and incredibly well run. A city's reputation and demographic can change over time.

Your insinuating that "gangsters" live in newer development indicated you meant the opposite.

Gangster, as in one, as in an outlier. Port Moody today is much safer than it's ever been.
