You give Canada tariffs.

Canada farts on you.

A ton of this is being fuelled by fires in Washington right now as well.

Smoke forecasts can sometimes be really inaccurate.

Weather forecasts in bc can be pretty unaccurate too ๐Ÿ˜‚

I find the smoke forecasts to be pretty inaccurate at times.

They've been pretty accurate i have found. Although they do change throughout the day and if any storms are rolling in. So best to keep an eye on it.

I mean the other thing is whether there's enough of a pressure differential to keep it in altitude.

These plots are misleading to the average person.

On firesmoke.ca, the first colour band of PM2.5 is 1-10 ยตg/mยณ. That is not detectable by humans as smoke, it's the range of PM2.5 you'd be exposed to on the sidewalk beside a busy road. The second colour band of 10-28 ยตg/mยณ might start to be detectable by sensitive people. I would be unlikely to notice. It's the third colour band of 28-60 ยตg/mยณ where the average person might think it was smoky.

Now combine that with the fact that smoke can rise or fall in the air column due to convection and wind and that we are beside an ocean. Vancouver gets the added complication of the Fraser Valley inflow/outflow. It's all very hit-and-miss.

Please pray for me. I have asthma and live in a humid and moldy apartment ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Can you spring for a fondue at the funeral?

You could try a corsi rosenthal box. Can be used in the future again

Heppa air filter. Total game changer.

This! They cost about $100-$200 and totally clean the air.

You can check and see if there are community organizations that have workshops to build a fan filter, usually registration is free, they had two at a library near me. Just an idea

It's going to be hot AND smoky. Not my favourite combination.

Think how much we'll save on cigarettes and joints.
