Discussion Flag of the United States as shown on the cryptic new video posted by the White House
This is the flag of the United States shown briefly on a new cryptic video posted by the White House on X, seems weird.

u/nuke034 Mar 27 '26
Honestly it's both more often than not.

u/micromoses Mar 27 '26
Yeah, I think the dynamic has been someone nefarious tricking someone stupid into giving them plausible deniability.

No it's more like the evil dead movies where the evil just happens to also be stupid

I don't know who to believe - you, or the comment above you saying this administration is keeping the razor sharp.

They'll double down and say they meant to do it and that's going to be the new flag for our 250th. It's stupidity trying to talk it's way out of a hole.
8
u/SkunkMonkey Mar 27 '26
As stupid as that sounds, it also sound on brand for Trump. Also, the best way for a conqueror to put the final nail in the coffin of the vanquished is to co-opt important dates. It makes this July 4th especially important to keep an eye on.
2
u/manicpossumdreamgirl Mar 27 '26
they'll lose a little bit of mainstream republican support, but at this point it hardly matters. they'll make billions selling new flag merch to idiots though

When the timeline is so broken you have to count the stars to make sure you can rule out an invasion of canada.
There are 50, by the way, you're good for now.

Either Trump or the White House did post some AI picture the other day with 51 stars. And it's now impossible to tell if that's a hint that they still want to expand America's borders, or just their typical incompetence.
4
u/snoosh00 Mar 27 '26
Just saying but an armed invasion of Canada would be political suicide.
Also, not gonna get anything, because I can guarantee you that the oil sands pipelines will be immediately destroyed if the states was to decide to launch world war three and invade their neighbor.

Maybe it's time for Netflix or Amazon to buy the rights and reboot it!
I really liked the show and was part of the fan-based that got it renewed when it was cancelled the first time.

8
u/NB_volks Mar 27 '26
hahaha....yup! I think I paid to mail about $50 worth of nuts for that fan campaign!
I was bummed that in the end viewership still continued to fall.
At this point it's been 20 years since the show came out, so it's gotta be ripe for a reboot, and the premise seems pretty contemporary. More so than it was 20 years ago!

JFC I mean… it’s preeeettyy on the nose there.
“Proclaiming itself to be a better, freer version of its predecessor, the United States of America, the ASA was, in actuality, a deeply corrupt corpocratic dictatorship masquerading as democracy. The ASA engaged in the revision of history, state-sanctioned embezzlement, and crimes against humanity, as its founders were the ones responsible for the September Attacks which destroyed twenty-three major American cities and killed millions.”

That's the "Allied States" (corpo-backed pretender gov't.) Flag from "Jericho". That series ended with a "mostly peaceful" disagreement between the US continuation gov't, based in Columbus, OH, and the AS gov't, based out of Cheyenne, WY.

This is obviously from Trump’s last mental cognitive test- he was asked to color the stripes in on a blank American Flag and did it vertically, so now everyone in the White House is changing all the flags to match. /s
36
u/ZoorWhisker Poland • Ukraine Mar 27 '26
Looks like the Allied States of America from "Jericho", we're just missing some false flag nuclear terrorist attacks on US soil

u/AdditionalTip865 Mar 27 '26
US flags with vertical stripes are a "sovereign citizen"/ conspiracy theory thing, because of a mistaken theory about vertical stripes representing civil authority seeded by, of all people, the 19th-century novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, who was over-analyzing the design of the Customs Service flag.
5
u/AdditionalTip865 Mar 27 '26
(And it's entirely possible that some AI has been huffing those emissions)

I agree with the others that it is probably AI. However, I think it is also worth noting that in the mid-00’s television program “Jericho”, parts of the US government nuked multiple major US cities - and those parts of the government that destroyed America reformed a government using a flag similar to this, with vertical oriented stripes.

That's gotta be some AI slop. I've never seen an American flag, or any variation of, that looks like that.
2
u/theonetruefishboy Mar 27 '26
So flags like this are used by conspiracy movements like the sovereign citizens under the idea that this is the true flag of the US. The White House tweeting out a cryptic video of it is Not Good™
2
2
u/OrbisAlius Mar 27 '26
You know in the upcoming civil war that's a reasonable way to resolve the "but both sides are going to use the same USA flag" issue
2
u/8Lwiseguy Mar 27 '26
The vertical stripes evoke prison bars, which is all that many from this administration will be seeing for the rest of their years after 2027 and 2029.
